You can put the CDI where you want. I put the fuel tank right under the wing spar, so that as it burns off the c/g is not affected much. It easily draws the fuel from 6 inches away.

Jody is it true that DLE has been bought over by Hobbico or at least the "sole selling rights" ? 'coz these engines are no longer available with Chinese suppliers.

The DLE website shows a large number of distributors, but none of them are listed for the country of China. Also, the US-based distributors include Great Planes as one of many, most notably of course, VVRC. (:>)

A few weeks ago I contacted one of DLE's authorized dealers, and here's what DLE replied back to us;

Hi Jim, Mike,

Hobbico is not the sole DLE distributor in US. And we'll not supply more dealers to US market, every dealers you knew is on our website.

The DLE Engines
Mile Hao Xiang Model Technology Co.,Ltd
www.dlpower.net

So, here & now, at this point in time, going by the above + what Jody has said earlier in this thread, the current group of authorized DLE dealers as listed on their web site, will not be changing any time soon. Only the cut throat/cut rate wholesale (former) dealers are gone.

I've noted some secondary dealers (so to speak), that are NOT listed as official authorized DLE distibutors. I contacted one and he stated he drop shipped his out of China. Well, now such folks will soon be drying up and fading away.

There it is.....fwiw.

For those with more knolege than me, what servos would you recomend putting in the 68'' Velox? Also not sure if I should put in the DLE 30 as in the Velox manual or the DLE 20 as noted in this forum? Will I encounter any balance issues using 2 rear mounted servos for the elevator and one rear mounted for the rudder?
The way I've been doing it is to assemble the majority of the plane with the stuff that does not have optional locations (e.g. aileron servos, engine, etc.). When you get it as far as you can, then assemble it loosely the best way you can and start placing the battery(s), gas tank, ign. module, and the tail surface servos where they might work best to optimize your weight distributuion, checking CG location as you go? FWIW

We just flew a DLE20 with 16x8 Haoye nylon prop today (not at all a great prop but what we had) , running on 30cc cannister. Man is it a sweet setup. 7800 and quieter than the guy next to us using a saito 100 - was really amazed, in fact in the air you cant even hear it idle
Sure would be nice to see some pictures of the DLE20 with the 30cc cannister
sorry for the delayed reply - its not my plane but i will try and get some pice for you in the next week or so.

Anyone have an idea as to what size four blade prop this would turn in a warbird install?

If someone wanted to put a 4 blade on this engine, what size would they use?
Someday I'd love to put a DLE-20 in a Top Flite .60 size Mustang or Thunderbolt.

just to keep you guys updated on the DLEdistribution channels. Chines whole sale websites (sdshobby.net and others) are no longer are allowed to sell DLEengines i dont understand why. for guys who live outside the USA in smaller market we cant buy localy and if we do it would be a rip-off and it would be difficult for us to buy from USbsaed websites because the shipping is so much.

why id DLEdoing this to us

Jody/VVRC is the one to ask for such info.

He did state this one time (or more?);
"Poor support track records from the Chinese outlets are one of the reasons they were cut off."

I am also building a delta vortex with a DLE 20cc gas engine. I'm building it in a tail dragger configuration with graphtech landing gear and dual sullivan tailwheels on the rudders. I pined the firewall and moved it 3 1/4 inches back in hopes of countering the normal nose heavy tendency of this aircraft. I'm using a single battery setup. I will mount the battery and throttle servo as far rearward as possible. I welcome any input anyone may have that has built this configuration, since so far, I've only seen this plane built with glow engines.

Wooh, little different there, I am planing on sideways instalation with Retracts, anything else stock besides the servo installation and locations and an extra hatch for nignition and the 6 oz tank i'm planing on. Both of my Vortex Deltas had the Engine sideways, looks cleaner too.
I make some pictutes and try to upload them here in the next days

Hii, going to buy one of these this weekend, but have a question about maximizing power. I think the stock muffler is fine, but if I wanted to get more power, are there any Canister mufflers made for this engine as yet? I've seen the Jtec's Dle 20 wrap around.. but want to find more of a large volume such as these KS cannister types, these work more like tuned pipes etc.
Hoping to find in size for this this DLE20

thanks
