I prefer my coffee just like the way I like my women: strong, black, bitter, ground up and in the freezer!
I like my coffee like my women, blond and sweet.

I am just hoping to fit everything inside the cowl. This smaller engine looks to have alot of spunk and i think I will be able to fit everything inside. Hope to cut one hole and that is for the exhaust exit hole and maybe a small one for the plug wire cap.

Wow that little engine was throwing that plane all over the place. I LMAO when Jody was flipping the plane end over end.

Over-g... just remember to allow about three times more air exit than intake to a cowl to adequately cool the engine and avoid pressure issues that upset the carb metering.

I think it was to see if a end over end maneuver could kill the engine....well it sure did not kill the engine. A good test to see what effects such a maneuver would have on the DLE20 engine. Besides that...looks like a lot of fun!!!! Capt,n

Today i've received mine for test purposes.
Side by side with a DLE30 it seems a very small engine.
And is lighter than the OS 120AX !!!!! (both with stock muffler) but i'm thinking in the tank size for this DLE20 ..... and for the AX .....

Roger that AA5BY. I always cut a fairly large hole for the exhaust and the Jug has a decent opening all the way around between the fusalage and cowl. Thanks for the info, always appreciated

What oil ratio is required for this puppy? Would Pennzoil at 40:1 be good enough, or does it require tons of oil (like the Saito FG's)?
PSI'm not starting an oil discussion, I just meant it as an example.

Good to hear. I wanted the Magnum .52G until I found out it required high oil ratios. I just want to carry around one can of gas.

It uses the same oil ratio as the DLE30
Break in Pennzoil 32:1 . . . . .

Well, that might end up being the case...but keeping one "set" of mixtures (32:1 and 40:1) would still be easier than keeping two "sets" of mixtures (4 cans total). I'm hoping to be able to rid my dad of his glow fuel habit. Also, I'd only keep a 1Gal jug of break-in as opposed to my 2Gal jug of regular stuff. Right now I've only got one gasser (DLE55), but if that number starts rising I might have to get a 5Gal jug. If the DLE20's are priced well, I might need to look for a 5Gal jug and keep my 2Gal as break-in fuel.
I'm setting up my girlfriend's 40-sized trainer as electric right now, I can't wait to get both my dad and I completely out of glow!!

The DLE20 has roller bearings on both ends of the connecting rod but, it spins a relativelylarge prop for it's size atpretty high RPM compared to it's big brothers and even though the big end of the rod is directly in front of the reeds, highRPMs can reduce the amount of oil exchange through the bearing.
I strongly recommend following DLE's oil ratio recommendations which will be, as in all their engines 30/32:1 minimum no matter what oil you choose to use. Irun 32:1 in everything all the time.

OK...for those wiz- kids, if a person takes 4 oz of oil & mixes it to 9/10 (.90) of a gallon of gas...what ratio do you end up with? Capt.n

W8YE, Thank you so much for all your great and thought out answers! I always read your comments and also follow them closely, Always a pleasure! Yes 32/1 sounds right to me, I have heard some say 100/1 50/1 just does not sound right to me! oil is oil some better then others but an engine does not care if its good or great oil but it does care if there is enough to lube it proper! An improper lubed engine will fail! All my engines ice auger weedeaters etc, get 32/1
