DLE 30 replacement carb
I need a replacement carb for a DLE 30. Is there a Walbro or other that is better the side carb supplied?

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Bump,
I am curious about this as well. I am already having issues with mine. Would just rather put a Walbro on it. I have the rear carb version. |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Often the DLE carbs perform satisfactory with a new Walbro repair kit installed.
|
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
I assume that Walbro repair kit would be a K20-WAT or if just gaskets then a D20-WAT ?
|
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
K10-WAT and D10-WAT
|
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Is this something that should be done right away(Walbro kit), or does the carb performance just deteriorate slowly?
Does the carb need the k10 and d10? |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
One kit just has the diaphragms and gaskets (D)
The other kit has springs, needle and seat for the regulator as well as the diaphragms (K) |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
ORIGINAL: jedijody K10-WAT and D10-WAT |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Yes.

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Since this is a thread about replacement carbs for the DLE30 is there a Walbro carb with an accelerator pump that will fit on the DLE30 and perform as good or better than the original equipment DLE30 carb?
Thanks Ed |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
So far the carb that comes on the DLE 30 has been very satiscfactory and only needing a Walbro diaphragm kit in worst case situations

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
w8ye - thanks for your reply - but it doesn't answer my question about a carb with an accelerator pump.

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
I was looking at Walbro carbs and the most popular one this size as used on the Syssa 30 does not have a choke as part of the carb. The choke on the Syssa is made by Syssa.

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Would all/any of these work?

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
These all have a 12.7mm venturi
WT-257 Nice carb, right size, high speed nozzle check valve, no accelerator pump, and no choke WT-603 Right size, high speed nozzle check valve, primer bulb, and it does have a choke WT-668 Primer bulb and choke as well as the high speed nozzle check valve WT-644 Primer bulb and choke but no high speed nozzle check valve |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
It does not take a brain surgen to put a choke on about any carb...with reason. Capt,n

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
As stated before, the definitive carb is the Walbro 813. It is rumored all over the place as having an accelerator pump but I cannot see any evidence of it in the Walbro literature. The carb has no choke. it has a "32" in the venturi as the others mentioned here. It has the high speed nozzle check valve. But the one generally available everywhere has a primer bulb.
This carb, minus the primer bulb is the standard carb from the factory on the Syssa 30. All these carbs mentioned so far, are 1/2" carbs and are either standard Zenoah G-26 carbs or sold as replacements for use on a Zenoah G-26. |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Thank you for these several responses - now that I know about Dave's Motors (thanks to the posts here) I searched for the WT-813 there - it's listed with the following text:
"Walbro WT-813 high-performance carburetor. This is the carburetor recommended by Zenoah for upgrading your RC-style engine. Engines with the standard carburetor (WT-603, WT-668, etc) tend to experience a lag in low-end acceleration when tuned for peak power. The new carburetor includes an internal acceleration pump to allow faster recovery as throttle increases. Carburetor specs: Walbro WT-813. 15.88mm bore, 12.7mm venturi, independent tunable high and low speed jets. This carburator does not have an internal choke. Fits Zenoah G23LH / G2D / G230RC / G260RC / G231PUH / G260PUH / G260PU / G231PUM / G260PUM engines. Also fits Chung Yang CY23RC / CY26RC / CY27RC / CY29RC / GP290 engines." So I wonder why Walbro doesn't mention the accelerator pump also. Ed |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
The parts list for the 813 shows no piston, accelerator kit part number Illustration number 58
http://wem.walbro.com/walbro/product...&Series=WT WARNING: Do not dis-assemble WT-813 or WT-813A carburetors. These Walbro carbs are equipped with an accelorator pump, which is actuated by a ballbearing check valve. This ball is located at the right side of the carb body when looking at the butterfly from the cylinder side. This carb is not designed to be reassembled. Dis-assembly will void any warranty. |

Here was the same discussion previously on RCU ...

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
This is a "32" carb with an accelerator pump WT-513
http://wem.walbro.com/walbro/product...&Series=WT It looks like a pefect candidate as it also has a choke This carb has a fast idle linkage on the throttle arm that some people may want to remove? |
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Wow all this talk about replacement carbs for DLE engines. The carbs on my current production DLE30 and 55 engines work as well as any genuine Walbro carbs I have ever owned. If I was looking for a replacement carb for similar engines or as a DLE replacement, I'd go right back to the DLE carb again. Hard to beat, especially considering the cost.
|
RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
The DLE55 carb is a genuine Walbro, the DLE30 carb is everything a Walbro is without the logo. I've seen more problems with Walbro carbs than I have with the DLE version, they work well.

RE: DLE 30 replacement carb
Agreed but sometimes people think they have to change things?
