DLE 85 Mount

I have a DLE 85 and was wondering about the vibration mount included with it. Years ago anyone who tried rubber mounts were not successful with them. Has anyone tried this one and what were your impressions? Yay or Nay?

I can't say whether the anti vibe mount works well or not because my DLE85 is hard mounted on the standoffs / firewall. I did it that way because the older plane the engine is in doesn't have enough room for the special mount and I wanted to see what the vibration level of the engine was anyway for future reference. I have been pleasantly surprised how smooth the engine runs w/o the special mount. While not actually measured the vibration seems on par with a typical 55 - 60 size single cylinder engine which I think is excellent for an 85. Moving the engine to the next airplane, I will continue with the hard mount. By the way, I've always liked this engine very much. Good solid performance on a 26 - 10 prop. The only thing I have ever noted is that it likes to run just a bit rich at low speed to assure reliable transition to full throttle but that is not exclusive to this engine.

It's been a few years since the last post. Any further feedback on the hard mounted DLE85? I'm considering hard mounting it on a warbird. Seems to shake the plane a lot with the soft mount currently.

I'm pretty sure DA sells a plywood mount now. It's been the standard for a few years.
