Best engine for CubCrafters XCub 60cc
Guys
Need advise as which twin gas engine is the best choice for the CubCrafters X60. Regards , Dmenace. |
Saito FG-61TS Fits well with no cowl cut outs required, balances well, sounds nice, looks nice and flies it well. Check the video of Ali Machinchy (designer) flying XCub - Saito. |
Thanks for your advise, we'll check on it and buy it.

the Valach 60 might be a good match, but it's a single cylinder. The sound is great and in a lot of ways they're better designed than the glow derived Saito.

Check out the twin 70cc at Valley View RC

Thank you all, after check on Ali's comments we decide to go with the Saito 61, expensive yes, but looks like a prefect match for the plane.

I have just been thinking about this model to carry my Fiala 85 B2 FS. Anybody know if it will fit? Not yet seen one in the flesh so to speak but the Fiala is way bigger than the Saito. Fiala is the new name for Valach BTW.

Saito FG-61TS 232mm so I’m guessing cowl is 240mm.

I went with the Saito FG61, Although it would seem to be more expensive, you do not need any additional exhaust and the big thing was you do not have to cut the cowl. everything fits nicely.

In my one a twin DLE60, very nice and balanced.
