I found the right place i'm looking for a gas engine at a good price an is what it says it is I have a seagull extra 260 1.80 (70.5") and this MLD-28 mite be what this plane needs i was looking hard at the spe 43cc but i mite wait for more info on the MLD

If your plane is similar to http://www.cermark.net/List.php?TID=94 then I don't think you'll have any problem. We are hovering at a couple clicks above 1/2 throttle on the Scale Series 70 Edge (Cermark) with a MLD-28S on an APC 18x6W (only about 7 tanks of fuel - gone through this MLD-28S engine so far & still breaking in at 30 to 1 fuel-oil ratio).

We like this engine. I'll try to get off my assssss and put the maiden to the 2nd tank video posted.

The video is a composition of the 1st 3 flight of the airplane with a brand new (not broken-in) MLD28 or 28cc gasoline engine. The video is handheld quality. Video was done at Sepulveda Basin. However, we'll most likely be there this Saturday again. The MLD-28 in this bird is about 2-3 more tanks from officially 1 gallon at 30-1. So perhaps, we'll up the power a little more. However, come out and check it out. Alex already has doynked the rudder and the canopy on the 6th or 7th flight for hovering too close to the weeds. The weeds came up and flip the Edge 540 on its back. The prop was damaged, rudder and the canopy was a little scuffed, but it seems eveything else are fine.

Yes, Alex did put another of our test plane in last week, because he ran out of gas while hovering... We still love him, though.

Hi I was wondering if you know if the ignition system will run off a single Li-Po cell,or do you have to use 4-cell packs?

While you folks are over looking at the engine on the Cermark site, take some time to look at their electrical products as well. In a whole lotta years of this stuff I still haven't found anyone with better switches and extensions. Not to mention their prices can't be beat by anyone with a quality product. Then again, if the other guys are selling a quality product it probably came from Cermark to begin with.

Just received my MLD 28S from CERMARK and out of the box I am getting 8500 RPM on a wood 16 X 10 and the engine runs great. Over all quality is much better than other engines in its class. Starts easy and runs strong even in the midrange. I hope to get some more time on it this week and report some RPM/prop numbers.

Man, that sounds pretty good!! What plane are you going to put it in? It seems like the selection of airframes that fit this engine is kind of slim. I am looking at the Aeroworks YAK 90-120 for just this same engine. I have heard on another thread that this is a good combo.

MLD 28S is in a 1/4 Scale CUB for break-in and will end up in a Giles 202 w/ 73 inch wing both are 12 lbs. Any plane 72 top 80 inch would be good 10 to 12 lbs for 3D (IMHO). I am hoping the performance increases and trying to put more time on it and I am happy with the way it runs out of the box.

More good news, after another 20 minutes of flight time the MLD 28S is turning the 16 X 10 wood at 8610 RPM (out of box RPM 8500). Matches Steve's data 16 X 8 = 8600 RPM. Starts up with 2 flips and starts on one flip the second run. 33 degrees at the field today and the engine ran great.

random thought- it would be great if the spark plug was set an an angle so while inverted in my 73" CAP it would not poke too much out the bottom. So far so good from this motor.

Anyone have any updated numbers with the APC 18x6/8?

Another performance update on my MLD 28, more prop data. Moki wood 16 X 10, up to 8700 after 20 minutes more run time.

XOAR 17 X 10 = 7350 RPM
XOAR 18 X 10 = 6800 RPM

It was 32 degrees today and the engine ran great with the 18 X 10 XOAR, on a 14.5 lb 1/4 scale H9 CUB. I do not have a 3D plane to test it in but this engine was pulling the CUB around fast and had good vertical.

3dsky,, try an XOAR 17x8, you should be up around 78/8000, I bet that would work well for you..

hmmmm,, I'm now wondering what it would pull with a XOAR 18x8 ?? if it got 7350 or more (tuned for flight) with a 18x8 that would be great..

I will test the 8 pitch props next time out, after an hour of flight time it just got to cold. I wish I had a 3D plane to test because this engine runs out of the box with allot of punch. The 18 X 10 gives the engine a very smooth transition. (not good for 3D) The 16 X 10 has a very quick transition and an 18 X 6 or 17 X 8 (6) should rock for 3D.

Snow, wind and cold have killed my chances to run my MLD 28. Just mounted my second MLD 28 in a Giles 202. The second MLD looks as good as the first. Quality of the finish of the outside and the piston and cylinder walls looks above average for a motor in this size class.

The TT Bearcat has a listed wingspan of 63 inches and a flying weight of about 10 lbs on a 120 engine. The MLD would work. My OS 120 4C if I remember had 15 lbs of static thrust, I did not check my MLD yet but it would be at least 15 lbs thrust. The Bearcat on a 3-blade proped MLD 28 would have great aerobatic performance and look cool.

i guess i should have said imfamious T.T. RARE BEAR ARF they say .60-90. 2 stk. read thread on this plane guys are using .90s to os 1.60 2stks up to 1.80 4stks. i'm doing the mods on it to make it live!!!!!! may come in at 12.5 to 13lbs need about 37 oz. or so eng to make it balance w/out adding nose wt.
