Default John McDermontt wins Q-40 at OJA

John McDermott won Q-40 at the Fall Old Julian Airport Air Races on Sunday.
After the race John's airplane and engine were taking to the NASCAR research center in Hickory, NC for post race inspection and engine tear down by Moe Venturi, Manny Kuts and myself. After a 2 1/2 hour inspection, Johns airplane was found to be totally legal. The only thing that had us scratching our head was we found two gray pubic hairs in John's engine.
The only thing we could come up with was Moe Venturi over heard John say at the race he loved that engine.
I don't care who you are, Now that's Race'n!
Congratulation John McDermott

Always myself, Shorty Gauge

Pantyhose, NC. Not the best place in the world, but right next to it.

That's funny stuff right there!

But congrats to "gentleman John" for the big win! We practiced with him the weekend before the race and, wow, was he fast!

It must have been the logo on the tail

Couldn't have been the logo, it had to be his FASST equipment!

We flew 100 heats with only 2 reflys. Hope you can make the next race.

Shorty
Is NASCAR reviewing the video tapes of the 426 race with a close eye on the rough flying that occurred during last weekends race in Julian.
