Default Flight Box Lipo

I like to use a flight box with a control panel for my flight box on the line. Can I use a Lipo in place of a regular battery to run my igniter and starter from the control panel? If so what size do I need to get through a weekend of racing and how long should I expect it to last.

Thanks, Jay

Default RE: Flight Box Lipo

Jay I use a 3 cell 2200MA lipo on my starter. It pulls 3 amps cranking a 40 engine. At this rate it would be able to crank your engine for 45 min. The ignitor also pulls about 3 amps so between the two of them you would have 22 min. of cranking time.More than enough for a years racing
