RE: Is Dave Latsha still around?
Vic, I think Kevin Matney may have the Rivets molds. By the way, sorry about miss spelling Latsha's name.
It was late last night when I responded. Greg

Vic. Yes it is a .15 size 1/4 Midget. There are several ways to do a T Tail. I'm not sure how it was done
on Latsha's Rivets, but I'm sure he would be willing to share his method with you. Greg

RE: Is Dave Latsha still around?
the T-tail on the Rivet's was controlled with a Nyrod. it had a preformed S bend to it, once you attached the elevator to the rudder post , you connected the mini snap to the elevator horn and glued the Nyrod to the fuse, a later modification was to put some expanding foam in the rear of the fuse to hold the Nyrod better, plus it made the fuse a little stiffer.

RE: Is Dave Latsha still around?
Glad to hear that Dave is still around. My father, Lewis Hipkins and he shared many QM races over the years. Some of my best memories of growing up were traveling with the bunch of us to the various races. Ft. Wayne, Atlanta, Rough River Dam State Park just to name a few. Dave and my father shared the same Birthday. I'm glad to know Dave is still out there and flying. I lost my Dad too soon, but still follow the sport when I can and proudly have a few of his trophies on the wall in my office. Please pass on a "HI" to Dave if anyone sees him from Big Lew's son.
Thanks.
Lewis Hipkins

Hi,
Is this Rivets in the link (and picture)below same as the short kit/drawing that is mentioned above?
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...14&postcount=2
(I post the picture here also).
Matney Models Rivets:
http://www.matneymodels.com/qm.html
Dave Latsha Rivets at the 2011 Nats picture show other shape of wingtips then Matney Models Rivets.
Maybe Dave Latsha NATS 2011 Rivets was just a modified Matney Models Rivets with different wingtips?
Has Dave Latsha NATS 2011 Rivets slightly greater wingspan then Matney Models Rivets short kit?

These are not the same models.
The picture is of an EF-1 scratch built by Jerry Small.
The airplane that Kevin Matney sells is a QM-15 and is very different from the airplane in the picture.

I still have two Dave Latsha Rivets fiberglass fuselages and foam wings. One of the wings is for an AJ-2 variant.
Also have a DH-20 fuselage and foam wing.
Anyone in central Florida have something to trade? I'm into .22 guns these days.

RE: Is Dave Latsha still around?
Dave Latsha attended the Toledo R/CExpo over the past weekend and was looking great. Also chatted with Ben Martin, Dan Kane (Sr and Jr), Greg Doe, Jim Gager, Dennis Sumner, Wayne Yeager and Rick Moreland. A couple more guys and we could have filled a matrix.
It was great seeing these fine folks-all pylon racers, at one time or another.
