Default Looking for Vintage Pylon Racer

My buddy is looking for a vintage Pylon racer. He told me that he once saw a Pylon racer with twin booms, sort of like a P-38J Lightning, but more streamlined. Can you guys come up with any twin engine, twin boom racer for my buddy. He's looking at Giant scale twin gassers.
At the same time, I would like to throw some other designes to him in the Vintage catagory of racer. Iwould like to hear what you guys have to say. Oh and a Gee Bee Y/Z is not what he is looking for.

It sounds like the Scaled Composites Pond Racer designed by Bert Rutan for John Pond. It crashed in 1993 killing pilot Rick Brickert.

I was pretty sure because he said "streamline". Also I was unaware of the Transavia PL-12 Airtruk ever flown on an actual race course.
