I'm in the process of finishing a build on a Sig Mustang 450 I started 30 or so years ago. I know this airplane was outdated almost if not before it left the factory!! Anyway, the directions suggest 2 to 3 inches of dihedral under each wing tip. This seems more that excessive. Any suggestions? I was thinking flat across the top and let the natural taper of the wing set the dihedral on the bottom????? It will be a sport flyer only and I think I'm going electric. The wing is under cambered at the tips and is supposed to have about 3/16" washout though mine looks like it will wind up at about 1/8".

yup it's to much dihedral. It's based on old radios and receivers that often needed a little help with stability. I just finished an old Jack Stafford formula 2 mustang that called for the same dihedral. I reduced it to what I thought looked good. It came out 2.5 inches total or 1.25 per tip. It fly's great. It's is the 600 sq.in. wing.

I flipped the wings down side up and measured the dihedral with a flat top. It is around 1 1/2 inches. I'm thinking maybe not quite enough, so I think I'll set it a 2 to 2 1/4 inches. It's going to a "what ever looks good" dihedral setting
