OLD JULIAN PYLON RACE NEED SOME MORE 424 RACERS!!
Ok guys, just checked the sign up sheet for the Old Julian Airports Race in less than 2 weeks on May 5th and 6th in Julian, NC. We need more 424 guys to sign up!! I know 424 is slower and REQUIRES more SUPERIOR flying skills but I swear we will take it easy on you 426 and 422 guys!!!! HONEST!! . You can fly 422, 426 and 424 at this race. No restriction. But if you are scared we understand!!

Bob, I can only speak for myself. It is just to far to go for a one day race. I talked to two of my friends and that is why they said they are not going. I was going to come but, when I talked to my friends and they said they were not coming I decided I wouldn't also. I am sorry there are not more 424 entries.

Barry, sorry you guys are not coming. Just for info, what type of race schedule would you guys like? We are flexible and interested in getting racing back on the for front again!! Post some suggestions and maybe we can make it happen.

RE: OLD JULIAN PYLON RACE NEED SOME MORE 424 RACERS!!
I shifted over to 424 this year and went to Mulkberry, FL last month. For 424 it was a two day race. Satuday was short course with 426 mix and Sunday was the long course with 422 mix. For me it was actually three days as Friday was a practice day. So I got to fly three pole, three days in a row. I know that the guys down at Hodges in Andersonville, GA are considering a two day race when they start up their three pole racing again. The thing that is also appealing to is the 424 schedule are two seperate races so if live close and want to fly only one day it is a stand alone race. They also let the 426/422 guys fly 424 but, they are seperated in the points so at the end of the day you have the newbie 424 scores and the expert 424 scores being two different classes even though we are all mixed together in the matrix.
I feel bad that I can't make the OJA race but, I haven't made corrections from the Mulberry race therefore I would be doomed to make the same mistakes that i made before. Hopefully I will get my stuff together and be able to make the next OJA race.

Hey Bob, I just bought a Viper off of Larry Lewis, and am putting it together. Come to find out the presidents of BOTH clubs i belong to ( Rocky Mount & Wilson R/C Modelers ) also have Vipers & are wanting to come raceing. So the plan is we will be practiceing & hope to make the fall race in Julian. Who knows we may even pick up a few more guys once we start pole raceing around here.....Gene

We got a round plus 1 heat in Round 2 in 424 and a complete round in 422 today before we got rained out.
Tomorrow the first heat goes off at 8 am. Should be a great day of racing.
