Fall Race @ OJA, Nov 2nd & 3rd
The beginning of November is getting close!!! Here is the flyer for the Fall Race at OJA. See the link below to pre register.

This will be a 2 day race for both Sport Quickie (AMA424) and EF-1 . We will run 1 round of 424 then 1 round of EF-1, and so on. The goal is for 8 total rounds for each event.
The field will be open for practice on Friday. Registration at the field all day Friday and until 8AM on Saturday. Racing starts at 8:45 AM SHARP!!
Load the car up and come to North Carolina for some of the best racing around. Hotels are listed on the OJA website.

The OJA website has an updated pilot list now. Please go to http://www.oldjulianairport.org/index.html to sign up. This will help get the matrix together faster.

I have just updated the pilots list.
Just over two weeks until the first ever EF1 race on the East coast!!!
Remember that the field will be setup on Friday. Practice will be open all day!!

Another update to the list. I know of an additional 4-6 pilots that have not pre registered.
This has turned out to have the makings of a great race!!!
I will be out at the field on Sat getting things ready. Several racers will be out on Sun also. If you want to come out and see the field or get some practice in, come on out!!!
I have had several calls/questions the last few days. Two items have come up that I have made decisions on that conflict with the current rules. I believe that these two changes are for the better of this race at OJA.
- EF1 - Battery weight will be allowed to be a MAX of 335g. This is up 10g from the current rules. This change has been submitted previously to NMPRA and I think it will be accepted and changed for next year.
- EF1 - The Pogo ARF airplane will be allowed to race WITHOUT the tip extensions. This race at OJA is the first on the East coast and some of the competitors have this plane, but have not raced it since the rule change to add the tips.

I you want to get an idea about the site and race organization at OJA, check out this great video from the NMPRA Q40 Champ Race last month! It gives the whole picture about this awesome pylon course.
