Looking for Kits/ARF of Rneo Racers
Hi,
I have always been interested in the Unlimited class racers of the Reno Air Races. I'm looking for kits/ARF's/RTF's/etc. of some of these planes. I know about the Hangar 9 Miss America P-51 & the Thunder Tiger Rare Bear. But I want to know what else is out there for scale/somewhat scale planes. Also if you could include the quality of the kit/arf. I've tried searching for some but end up with nothing or in a language I can't read. So chime in and let me know my choices.
Thanks
Trinity

RE: Looking for Kits/ARF of Rneo Racers
We do a ton of model Reno warbird racing here in Arizona. The overwhelming favorite is the World Models .046 P-51. We have 3 speed classes, Bronze, Silver and Gold and this aircraft races in all 3. The price is right and it comes in about 5 different color schemes. It has retracts and is designed for two aileron servos. With a light engine, it is easy to takeoff, fly and land. With bigger, heavier engines, it gets squirrelly at low speeds.
However, if you need highly detailed instructions, this ARF is not for you. The instructions have a bunch of drawings and few words.

Don't know why it's so far off the full sized Reno Racer but have you seen the September Fury yet?

Here is my Rare Bear made from a Dymond ARF that I will be doing SWRA races with. Clipped the wing down to 48" using a RCV .91 CD. Also have a yt international Critical mass. I just sheeted on side of the stab on the bearcat beacause I heard here that I had better.
