Welcome aboard! There's all kinds of stuff to learn on this board. I'm new to nitro racing and am learning new stuff every day from the fine people out here. What kinds of racing do you have near you up there in the great white north?

Well, i'm 29, and have been racing since i was 9 (Q500 rossi's/Formula1/428/Q40) even got a chance to fly a FAI (F3D) and there is absolutly NO racing in Ontario. Out west, has good turn outs, but thats to far. We had the UPRC (united pylon racing circuit) but as the technology advanced (nelsons) and got more expensive, it slowly died. a couple of us still wanted to race, so we bought nelsons and had to travel alot further. i loved it but it got to be too much. my friend Ed is still very active in the CAPS circuit. i totaly plan on getting back into it.

i'm kinda tinkering with speed 400 pylon right know and trying to find a circuit near by. NEED TO RACE!!!! I am jealous of the interest that you have in CA, sounds like you have strong entries.

About time you resurfaced! What happened, did the girlfriend walk out on you? We now have the above in writing. You will be held to it.

Cory,

Hit the "Quote" button (upper right) then block & delete what you don't need.

I remember you from the Toledo Silver Cup Q40 meet, 1998 or thereabouts. You had a nice white Loki with red maple leaves on it. Stay away from Ed. He's a bad influence. Everything I know that's wrong, I learned from him.

Cory,

I still have my speed 400. Now I have killer props.

Suffice it to say I changed the airfoil!

Duane,

As unbelievable as it sounds I do have trusting friends. Let me rephrase that, "Friend".

Life should not be a sedate journey through the years, arriving at the grave with the body perfectly preserved and in good shape. When the time comes the body must be totally spent and have nothing in it worth saving. One should skid into the grave with a Martini in one hand and a bar of Chocolate in the other yelling "YIPPEE, what a ride that was"

Hi Cory;

New guy my foot! You DO have some place to race, even if it is just 424 for now. Just check with Ed as to when hes coming down to the Hamburg field and come along. We Should have a schedule worked out by the end of this month.ALMOST had one tonight, but not enough of the club pylon guys were there to make it offical. It will be basically every other week on a Saturday @ 3PM. Weve been getting between 8 and 12 guys, but its GROWING Ernie has even been down to race a few time with us. We'd like to see more of the old UPRC bunch get down to play with us if they're willing and able. Some of the "younger" guys you may know/remember are Jeff Burg, Mikes son, Danny Perillo, Ralphs son, and Jason Horvavatis ?? Whats you dad up too?? Did he lose the urge to turn & burn?? I'll get our schedule to Ed and you as soon as we get it finalized. Tenatively, were looking at May 13 for our first race?? A "tune-up" for the "CAPS Spring Classic", if they can get it relocated??

Jim,

Offer to have the CAPS Spring Classic at Hamburg. Just chop the trees down along the north edge of the strip.

Ed,
We were talking about cutting those trees down last night at the meeting. If we get them cut down, what else is it going to take to have the race at Hamburg? Who would we have to contact? Would CAPS bring there equipment along, because we don't have lights.

Jim, good to here from you again.

i didn't find out about the race that Ed and Ernie went to last year until he came back and told us he had won(he was being all secretive or somthin)....probaly cause Ed didn't want me to beat him.

whats all involved for your 424 race? airframe, motor, weight, props ect....? cause i still have a couple of V-tails, just need to change the motor.

Cory;
Were running AMA rulebook 424/428 airframes and TT.40 motors & APC 9X6, unless you wanna run the "beginner class" with a MDS .28 If you don't have a TT40, we'll probably let you run one of your "OLD" Rossi's for a race or two. Or just ask Ed, he probably has a "spare" TT .40 or two ??!!
Ed;
It sounded like a GREAT idea to see about getting Terry to bring the "Spring Classic" over here, that is, until I did a "Mapquest" check on the time/distance from Lucasvill to here. It says 383miles, and 6Hrs and 22Min so Its gonna average about 400 miles and 6 and 1/2 hours for ALL of those guys to come here to race?? Doesnt look good?? BUT, I think I'll give Terry a call just to see what HE thinks of the idea Ya never know, I suppose "Don't underestimate the desire to get out for the 1st race of the season" psyche could be at work here??

Cory;
Not that one, thats the plain bearing one, the tt.40 Pro , ball bearing one is the one you want. Maybe you can bring your plane without the motor and we can get you one and put it on here. Doug has at least one in stock, or did. If not he can get them in in a week at most. They're runnig about $80 ? US. No one (almost) will ever know when you go back across the border except Ed [X(]

Don't be fooled by imitations!

This is what the TT PRO 40 looks like. The last two pictures are comparison photos. First, Left to Right, are K&B Rear exhaust, K&B Side Exhaust, O.S. Max, then Thunder Tiger Pro.

Hi Jeff,

Contact Ben Martin. He is President of CAPS. CAPS will supply the equipment.

Jim add a minimum of two hours to whatever travelling time you come up with and that will be the time I travel to every CAPS race!! Do you want to race or do you want sympathy????? Hamburg is an afternoon stroll for me.
