Default Ron Young modified Conquest 15's

I have one of the above mentioned engines, and would like to learn some of the history behind them. I think they were modified with Rossi .15 piston / sleeve combos to get ABC parts, but that's about the extent of what I know. They were done for the old .15 quarter midget racing class, which used to be my favorite.

Did Mr. Young do any other work to the engines, like crankshaft port timing, etc? Mine has had the outside diameter of the fins & head turned down to fit in a slimmer cheek cowl, were all of them done this way?

I got mine used way back when, so didn't really participate long enough in the event to get to know those who used them, by the time I started the Nelson .15 was already in use.

Thanks!

Doesn't anyone have any additional info on these modified engines? I'd appreciate any and all comments..
