Default Nelson Muffler Adhesive???

Have a Nelson Muffler with a loose outer can. Finally got it off by heating it up with a torch.

I am planning on using Permatex sleeve retainer which is good to 400 deg f unless there is a more suitable adhesive?

What do you guys use to on the threads of the outer can?

Thanks

Richard

I use Loctite 620 Retaining compound, with primer. Recomended to me by Dave Shadel.

I just clean up the threads and use blue loctite.
