Aiirfoil for 90 mph 1/2 A
I've just got into doing my own foam core cutting. After a lot of practice (a couple of 2' X 8 sheets of blue foam) I'm getting pretty good. I also have Profili on my computer. Now the big question is what would be a good airfoil to cut for 1/2 A Pylon? The engines we're using turn about 30,000 rpm. The airframes weigh from 13 to 16 oz. 200 sq in of wing area and the radar speeds are between 90 mph and 100 mph. This is on a three pole course 300' long and 80' between pylons 2 and 3.

It looks like an MH 43 would be pretty good. Follow this link to look at a great design. http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=2865
I had one of these and it would go 150+ easily. It was the fastest plane I have ever flown. Faster than a Nelson powered Q-500. I think they start to have problems around 170-180 with flutter.
Anyway, the airfoil was awesome and extremely clean. This is a hollow molded wing and very smooth. At 7.5%, you will need a lot of practice and just the right bow temp. A lot of the guys in the 1\2 A forums actually shape a piece of sheet balsa. At this thickness, that seems like a smart way to go.
