Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark
The SCCMAS (Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark) In Morgan Hill, CA hosts many different types of races. Currently, the two major events are World Models T-34 racing and mini-warbird racing.
Our club started the T-34 triangle racing series which averaged 50 racers per event last year at 5 races. www.T34racing.com is the web address, but is not working right now. http://t34racing.topthumb.com is another way to access it.
The mini-warbird racing uses the World Models P-51s with OS 61fx's as a stock class. There is an unlimited class where basically anything goes as long as there is 520 sq/in of wing. Some restrictions on airframes (obviously no qm stuff at 520 sq/in).
In the smaller warbird stuff, I fly a scale Tsunami. I built a mold for a .60 size and up, along with some smaller models. http://tsunam.tripod.com
Our club is heavy into racing with many modelers having competed in giant scale, QM,Quickee, etc. Currently, we the T-34 and warbirds are the most popular.
