Wow Hannes, Great Job! That looks Awesome! So much or that Idea!! lol My only concern is with those only bolted on leaves a chance oF coming apart in the air? Perhaps you already have it covered but looks really dangerous to me. But still... Great job on the Idea though!!! BEAUTIFUL!

I have a quick question...on Comp Arf website they say you needs servos with at least 140oz torque min, do you all think these will work.
JR DS8411 155oz torque @ 4.8v , and if so do you also think this will work for the rudder and throttle? If I need another for the rudder and throttle give me an recommendation

Hey Rowdog... Well...My two cents worth, I contemplated the same thing trying to Figure the best servo to use. I was looking at the JR Z8800T HT Digital when I Found out that JR had Discontinued it. So... Back to my search. Long story short, I wanted to make sure I had Everything covered to Maximum Insurance. I thought or a decent HT Digital Servo I;d be spending about a hundred bucks, So I decided to go with the JR 8911HV... 470 oz/in with titanium gears. I just wanted to added insurance these servos provide. The throttle servo... I'd go with a good Metal geared servo, you certainly dont want to strip gears during halF throttle on this Bird!!!

The beauty about those Hiteks, is if they are going the wrong directions, you can reprograme them to go the way you wish.

Is no one flying here a Gee Bee? What´s up guys?
Ok, time for another video from last week**
It was not a good flight and the engine still do not run perfect, here is the link:

A bad video is better than no video I think**

Hannes
Nothing like listening to the music of singing flying wires! Great control and landing after touching first with the left wheel. Great rudder reaction on runout after landing. Kinda reminded me of Delmar Benjamin.

Thanks guys, I think it will take 20-30 flights more and still some changes to say: OK, now I think I´m able to fly a CARF Gee Bee on a safe way and no one will get hurt

We are in the middle of our first, very early, snow storm in Pennsylvania. Nothing like the sound of singing flying wires to brighten the day.

WOW! KILLER FLIGHT HANNES And that flying wire WHINE... did the Granvilles build the predecessor to the Stuka JU-87??
You look totally comfortable and in control of your R2... possibly the BEST flight I have ever seen posted of the CARF Gee Bee
The DA150 sounds almost perfect.. just an occasional bobble on the top end... and the 28x14 prop SMOKES![X(]
Are YOU and ME the only ones FLYING this BIRD?[]
You offered a great Gee Bee shirt for successful first flights posted on YouTube.. any takers??[]
Gee Bee Gents,
LET'S SEE SOME FLYING GEE BEE'S PLEASE!

Enlarged stab, rudder, wingspan and much wider gear... interesting and fun to watch, but by no means a scale R2.
There have been many "sport" Gee Bees... most fly well... the bigger, the better. This is just another in a long line of Wanna Bees

The long wings, the short gear, the tail, the rudder, the canopy, the fuselage, the elevator... it´s made to fly,not to be scale.
A big Gee Bee always flysbetter than a little one, it´s even not fast
But funny to watch** The starter is cool!!

Hello,
My name is Jerome, i'am french and i'am new to this forum, i discovered it by searching some informations about the Gee Bee on google.
I have just bought a Gee Bee on Hobby King:
Spec:
Material: Fiberglass Fuselage / Balsa wings
Wingspan: 1005mm
Length: 610mm
Wing Area: 17dm sq
Wing Loading: 70.6g/dm2
Flying Weight: 1100g
i'am planning to make it fly next spring, by now i'am a beginner with planes, i used to fly with hélicopters for the last 2 years (fixed and variable pitch).
I'am learning to fly with several planes, the first one is a 39" foammy, the second is a Calmato from Kyosho, the third one will probably be a Corsair f4u.
I will need some help to choose the right components for this Gee Bee, i wan't electric motor, i was thinking about a Brushless 3536 1800kv, with 70A ESC, and not sure for the size of the prop. The radio is a spektrum dx6i.
I know it is a difficult plane to fly, but i will practice a lot these next months, to make this little thing fly
Thanks for anyhelp, very good topic, very helpful .

I sure some people will probably chime in but these are two different planes it is like looking at a regular orange and a tangerine. They both are in the same family but....different. I saw one of these on youtube and it seem more touchy than my Great Planes Gee Bee, usually the smaller they are the harder they are to fly. I really have never read anything about Hobby Kings Gee Bee, so as far as your setup I can give you my suggestions. I fly all nitro so I am not even going to touch talking about electric setups . I would go with a OS .25FX or a OS .35FX, as far as a prop I would go with a 9x6. Make it as light as possible and make sure the CG is correct like any other plane you fly. You may want to post this in the electric forum section
Here are two youtube videos I found
