Hello Nexus,

in german forum, some guy changed the original shock absorber into others, thats the reason about my question. But if nobody here changed it, i also try the original.
Your Prop looks greaaaaat!!! Is this a solo? It looks very expencive... for first test flies, i would take a cheaper one

Hello Hannes,

you vid looks very fine!!! Every start and landing looks just sovereign as the other in your vids - very impressive!!!
Regards Andreas

Wow,

great plane (looove it), great thread. I´m impressed, took me a week to get through the whole thread.
I like and understand the enthusiasm of Richard and Hannes, i´m restoring classic cars.
The risk of loosing here a $$$baby is much smaller....

Would like to fly one, but with a bad pilot it´s a bad plane.....

Will first try it in the 120class with the bee.

Perhaps there`s a CARFGee Bee special week, i order one....
When´s the next???

Thanks for the great videos,
especially the one from Delmar in germany from Hannes.

I was shocked about the "accident", that was luck......
Can someone (Hannes) tell us about this, if i´m right, it wasn´t planned to land, but Delmar decided to do it spontaneously???

Best wishes from germany,
Wolfgang

Great video Hannes!!!! Looks like you are very comfortable with the GeeBee...you and Richard have both been an inspiration to me with this model so you two fellas keep up the good work. Would you please post a pick of your tailwheel tiller arm and the connections you used. I am having some second thoughts on my setup. I am using pull pull cables but I'm not sure that I like how the tiller is mounted to the tailwheel strut. I definitely need help here. Thanks for the help and the flight video

Hello Jimmy (AKA n8622t) I might be able to help you with the tail wheel set up you want, its all in the pictures. You would be most Satisfied with the Fults Tail Wheel Setup. I two set up for a pull pull system... Anyways, the pictures say a thousand words...

A couple more... oh and i chose no tiller because being straight down will promote better steering capabilities. Richard said if he build another one he would do the same. I got the Idea from him. So thats how I Installed mine.

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K

Thanks for the pic Nexus...it confirmed my fears of what I have for a tail wheel. Comp-Arf supplied a tail wheel that was not useable so I put one together and didnt feel happy with it. I have some components that resemble what you have pictured and it wont take much for me to make the change. I notice a previous pic made by another builder Tridente in this thread that used the same set that I was supplied by Comp-Arf...Tridente!!!!! dont use it because it wont hold. The tiller will end up spinning on the strut shaft and you could end up with a major problem if the ground handling gets critical. Look at what Nexus has and duplicate that. I would hate to see anyone have a successful flight to meet tragedy on the ground due to a tail wheel. And also thanks to Hannes for the pic of the tray for the components to mount on...will be building that as well. You guys are all the BOMB!!!!!!!

Hello Jimmy... I too had your same tail wheel set up in my kit.. I tried to make sense of the tail wheel assembly myself and ran into the same road block. Soooooo, Richard turned me on to Fults. Its the way to go. Here are a few more Pictures of my Progress of the Radio tray. Thought it might help with a few Ideas for Everyone else. Hope you like!

Hello Jimmy,

my scool-english is not so good, but i hope, that i understand you right... First, thanks for looking about my pictures and solution of my tailwheel.
Do you think, that the original metal part (look at the picture) from c arf is not good and useful?

The picture is some dayยดs old. In time we changed the linkage. To the rudder we have cables, and to tailwheel short rods.

I hope you understand my english...

Hello Nexus,

a very nice construction!!!

First to thank Nexus for the pics and support to the thread and Tridente, the metal part and the mount is ok, its the tiller arm that the push rod or pull pull cable attaches to that is the problem. If you look at what Nexus has, there is a set screw that will hold the tiller in its correct position and the arm that you have installed is only held in place by the nuts that screw down to create a friction lock so to speak...just remove the tiller and nuts and install a tiller that has the set screw. Its the only way

Hello Andreas, No I do not have the total Weight Yet. I had just Ordered the Rest of my Flight System, Two More 4000 Mil Batteries and the Power Box Systems Co- Pilot. Also ordered My Sidel Scale Prop.. As soon as I take Delivery of these Items, I will then let you know what the Approximate Weight will be. But I do Expect it to be a slight bit heavier than Most. I had the Airframe Worked on before Construction. All the seam lines were Erased and had It Repainted So with that, I expect a little heavier but hopefully not by much. I will let you know as soon as I do!

I hope, my geebee is ready to fly about 18kg plus fuel.
Maybe another geebee-flyer can tell anything to the weight?

News from the last steps...
Batteries, Receiver and Powerbox will be build in the back. So the cg is perfect without additional lead.
The total weight without fuel is 16kg.

Hey Andreas your builder is doing a great job and I really like what he did with the wire attachment...I had originally planned to use brass tubing for the bolts to go through but your design is a better way. Thanks man for the tip
