NO MORE BROKEN HUBS!
Although the Sullivan SkyLight 7" wheels are good, their choice of PLASTIC for hubs is BAD!
About every 3rd landing, my Gee Bee was limping along with wobbly wheels!
After a quick jump across the pond, Mr. Lutzenberger whipped up a pair of aluminum replacements
...but sorry guys... these are made of 'unobtanium'

Without going through the entire thread..

Does anyone have any good photos of how they attached the upper LG fairing and wheel pants to the landing gear?

Im looking for ideas on how to accomplish this on my 26% R2.

Thanks,
Thomas

CARF GB Gents,
I got tired of the squeaky and flimsy foam 'ice chest' stand for my Gee Bee and so decided to make a wood stand.
This stand allows me to service the under-carriage quite easily.
I suppose this could also be used to secure and carry the fuselage to the field.
The pictures are self-explanatory...

Hannes, Great plane, flight and pilot! It has been very enjoyable watching your progress as you built this exquisite example of the Gee Bee R2. Now that you have successfully flown this masterpiece, you should save it for a museum, as it is truly a work of art. Carl

Well, mine doinked nose over and crunched the top of the vertical fin. Easy fix. You guys aren't running a gyro on the rudder? Makes life a lot easier especially in crosswinds because of the huge side area. Ideally I'd like to deploy a parachute or an anchor line out back upon touchdown!

I have tried a gyro and find it totally unecessary. It did not help my take-offs, landings or flight. It is possible that working to adjust it to perfection WOULD in fact improve handling, so, I am not saying that experimenting with a gyro would be a waste of your time. For me, just staying ahead of the airplane seems to be the best "gadget" I can use
