Here's a trick I learned about the real gee bee when flying mine. Fly it to the ground to a full wheel landing... But set one wheel down first then the other. It won't bounce then.

I have an itch do another and comp arf is redoing the kit.

Btw, this flys nothing like the great planes geebee... This thing is scale with no mods.

My question is, what is CARF doing, to remake this airplane, it will still be the same airplane!

The hardware was rusted and unusable. The flying wire material must be cut to the exact length described in the manual because there is not enough for mistakes which tells me that they could be preformed with threaded ends at the factory which would eliminate all the critical soldering. Tailwheel assembly isn't up to par and I had to fabricate my own. Fiberglass is great quality and finish is good but the mold seams take away from the finish. Engine dome could be better marked to indicate the top location. Canopy may or may not be molded to fit the canopy frame. That's pretty much it, it may not seem like much but would make the assembly much simpler.

Since the vertical stabilizer is twisted does the rudder need to be aligned with the vertical stab for a neutral setting?

There is no mention of this in the manual but I'm inclined to go with rudder alignment to the vertical stab

That bracing won't be enough. You'll need to run it to the mounting flange otherwise it WILL flex. Also, don't use the marks to find the top. You'll need to check it for runout. Mine was marked and had up and right. This will not work. I had to re index the motor dome after a few flights. It should only have right thrust.

Not sure what you mean about the flexing and my engine dome had no marks

Richard,

Thank you for the excellent video! Any chance of the same thing with engine sound rather than music?

Does anyone know what MattyMatt was referring to in his post above? Bracing and flexing...?
