I bet you can add another $400 for landing gears, (if available) and another $350 shipping

Coming from a huge Gee Bee fan. Just as Delmar is the master of the full scale. Hannes is the master of the scale model. I always enjoy watching and trying to learn from watching the videos on this thread. Unless you have flown the Gee Bee you will never understand the feeling of a perfect landing with this bird. Mine is just a 1/4 scale Adrian Page plane. The air foil is nowhere near the scale of the CARF model. But at 20 lbs you still have to fly and land it with a fine touch. Best to land at a high idle setting and put it on the mains. Then slowly throttle back and hope it settles on the rear wheel and not the tail fin. Takes a long runway.
I can see Hannes was devistated by the loss of his R2. Like losing a close friend. I hope the next one lives up the first ones legend. Looking forward to many more videos.
Thanks Paul.

Hannes,

I'm so sorry to learn of the crash of your beautiful aircraft.

Can you give us a report on what happened? The Vimeo video I saw had no sound so I don't know if you explained the problem there. Is the engine still viable?

Thanks,

Jules

Have you invested in the Moki and the CARF Corsair yet, a friend was going to do this same project and ran out of money, ended up selling everything in the end!

In my opinion, the BEST, most realistic handling of the CARF-Models Gee Bee R2 is by Hannes Lutzenberger with his radial-powered version. THIS is the yardstick by which all future flights should be measured. IF you wish to duplicate Delmar's flying, THIS is what to strive for...

When I heard of the sad news, it was if a relative had past great flyer and great plane.

Not a comp arf gee bee but I think I do a great job landing my great planes gee bee

Hello Hannes
I am interested in buying a set of decals for a 33% Gee Bee R-1. Are you still making them?
I sent you a PM but have not heard back. You can email me directly to: [email protected]

Hi GeeBee enthusiasts,

im new to this forum but read all 1770 messages. Why? Because I bought the "new" CARF GeeBee a while ago. I'm about to start the build and collecting all the parts now. The gear is on the way as well as the 250 Moki radial. There r a few differences on the new new model. For instance the horizontal stab is in two parts now. Also the gear seems to be modified but the new gear is not available yet. It comes at a price of about 600 euro by the way! Although CARF told me that there is no real difference between the old and new gear, accept the length. The building manual is not updated. It's still showing how to install the old horizontal stab. I asked for an updated manual, but no reply, which I think is bad for a company selling planes in this price range. Of course I gonna keep you updated on the build here but I hope to meet more people who are building this beauty to share our experiences.
has anyone flown this new one already? Wonder if the handling is has improved!

I wrote the builder's manual and offered to update it for the new Gee Bee... no response from CARF.
Good Luck!

Thanx Richard!
it seems to be normal for them not to come back to customers. I don't know what it is, lack of interest or they are extremely busy. I do know that it is annoying! If you have any more info richard, please share it with me!

Are you Jimmy and Richard still flying the Geebee? Since hannes lost his it seems that everybody here lost a bit their interest in it. It would be great to get this topic alive again, especially now the new model is available.
