Something new! Corvus 540 Racer 60CC
I got my hands on a 60cc Corvus 540 Racer from Red Aero RC
GP Engines GP-61CC with a Falcon Carbon 24x9 running Red Line 40:1
DX18QQ w/ JR921X Receiver
2500 Mah A123 / 1100 Mah A123 Receiver/Ignition batteries from Wrong Way RC with a Smart Fly Super Switch
20 and 22 AWG Heavy Duty servo extensions from Tail Dragger RC
Rudder pull pull system from Aztech Aeromodels
The great looking Brietling scheme is included in the kit in peel and stick but I redid the whole thing in vinyl and added the leading edge graphics as well as the "Flying B" behind the canopy that aren't in the sticker package.
This is easily the best looking, best flying plane I've ever owned, and I've owned a few.
Carbon fiber control horns, gear, tail wheel, and spinner. Fiberglass cowl with cowl ring, wheel pants, and landing gear fairings.

Great looking airplane!. The ARF offerings are getting to the point that the only thing that keeps me building airplanes instead of assembling them is my pride. My next 50cc airplane will most likely be an ARF, they are just too nice these days, it takes me 6 months to come up with an airplane as nice as this one.

I myself am just finishing up one of these fine Corvus Racers from RedAeroRC!
Might I ask where you had your C/G on your initial flights and your thoughts?
I'm trying to get mine to balance out with a DLE 55 / stock muffler,
and with my current setup, utilizing pull-pull rudder, the c/g is sitting right
smack on the wingtube, which is at 7"....
I even have the WrongWayRC A123 RX pack all the way up in the
nose of the engine box as well.....
I know the manual recommends 5"-6" behind L.E. @ wing root, but that
requires me to put about 1 lb, 14oz of weight on the end of the engine box...
does this sound right? Just seems odd to me...
Do you have any recommendations?

I had an 1100 ignition battery on the side of the engine box, and the 2500 A123 up under the hatch behind the firewall. After the first flight I moved them both back to either side of the fuel tank and its perfect with the rudder servo in the pull pull, so I was a little behind the recommended to start with (which is damn conservative) and moved it a hair back from that. I don't know where on the wing it actually worked out to, though if you're not in a hurry i'll have it out of the trailer and put together on Saturday and let you know.
The only thing I'm not sure of off the top of my head is the weight difference between the engines.

The hardware is amazing! Nice ball ends, titanium turnbuckle linkage rods (with reversed threads on one end)
and the control horns for the surfaces are superb carbon fiber.....comes with 3mm hex cap bolts and lock nuts for
the ball ends as well........I'm still impressed with mine!

I had the MXS-R and the hardware quality was...eh...adequate. The paint match on the cowl to covering was eh...ok
As Ken stated, EG has stepped it up this time. Carbon fiber two prong control horns, heavy duty ball links and infinitely adjustable titanium turnbuckles are all superb.

The only things I substituted, and my gawd I'm glad I did, was I got a set of pull pull tensioners and quick connects from Aztec. Not that the pull pull hardware was unusable, it was the same quality of the rest of the stuff, but the for doing pull pull the stuff from Aztec can't be beat.

Yes, I recommend bonded washers as well..... always a good thing...
can't go wrong there... definitely keeps things from vibrating loose...
I already have mine installed on cowling / stabs, and
the neat plastic canopy thumb screws that came stock for the hatch/canopy.......

Got a quick update....
91" Corvus from RedaeroRC with a DLE55 on the nose...
I ended up having to add 1 lb, 9 oz. to the bottom of the engine box
at the most forward position right behind the engine...
The plane is balancing at 6.25" from the L.E. @ root...
My total weight is 17 lbs, 15.7 oz. with a full 16 oz (approx.) fuel tank that is pre-installed...
If my math is correct, on 1500 sq/in that's 27.62 oz./sq.ft. (lightest in my fleet so far)
Flies pretty nice, and decent power, and I'm only running
a 22x8 wood prop at the present time.....
I've got 7 flights on it now.....
Most impressive plane that I've ever flown to date!!!!

I got my Blazing Star engine mount. All I can say is WOW, this thing would not look out of place in a jewelry case. Also included are shims for setting up the thrust lines.
While I have everything apart I'm installing Savox 1231 servos with Seacraft arms from Aztec, and a Pitts muffler from GP.

BH let us know how the Savox servos perform. I am planning on installing a set of 1230's in a 40% Extra. Pretty sure the 1231 servo is close to the same with just a little less power. I'm very interested in their centering ability. If they center well with a 3D setup then they will do even better with an IMAC setup.

Andy, can you elaborate on this some? What throws are you getting on high rate and are the servos coming back to a perfect center at high rates? Have you tried any precision type flying with them or just 3D sport flying? I will be flying this airplane in IMAC unlimited so performance expectations are quite high. Thanks.

I have bevel to bevel on both the aileron and elevators with 1.5" arms (see pic in first post). They center extremely well and don't seem to develop slop.
I don't fly IMAC so I can't be more specific.
Consider that they are the go-to servo in large (700 and 800) helicopters that require plenty of torque and precision under the Align servo badge. I've broken them in a crash but I've never had one crap out on me.

Is that the muffler the GP61 comes with in the latest pictures you posted? What happened to the JTec muffler in the first post? Just curious. Looks like a great combination of plane and engine.
