Hi,
For those of you in the Denver, CO area I am going to sell a 1/4 scale Pilot Bellanca Decathlon kit at the Jefco RC auction this weekend. This aircraft has been started, the fuselage is framed, all the rest of the balsa, rolled plans, etc. is in the box. The Buy it now price will be $150 or wait for the auction on Sunday.

I just bought a Pilot Bellanca Decathlon 1/4 scale (96" WS) kit today for $100! It is about 60% constructed already. The guy who built it moved twice during the build so I am going to have to spruce up some cracks and such but all in all it is a very solid plane and for $100 with all of the work he put into it I CANNOT complain!

Yes, I'm stuck on determining where F35, F41, and F42 belong. If you could look at the plans and then take a picture of where they are on your plane, that would help a lot. Thanks for your time.

I am ordering the Fiberglass Specialties cowl in just a few minutes here as the guy who had the plane before me lost it and I have also heard it was kind of lame and flimsy to begin with.

I pulled up my digital copy of the prints and photoshoped some sections for you ernie14. Hope these help you out. I will also take pics tomorrow.

Here are some of the pics to show you where those parts are ernie14.
It has some hanger rash and a few issues I need to fix and beef up and brace in some places but all in all it is a solid plane. That is a 50cc gas 2 cycle engine from a pocket rocket bike. I am currently fabing the prop adaptor and the exhaust.

Gordon_mcln you can get a copy of the plans at outerzone. The digitals I have are from there. They are the same that came with the kit. My originals are in pretty sad shape.
No problem ernie14. I haven't been around for a while. I got messed up in a snowmobile accident at the end of Dec. Broke my collar bone and my foot so I have been out. I did get my muffler and Prop adapter made. Installed my rcexel ignition and got it running. Originally I started with a 22-8 that is what is on the atteched picture. I'm swinging an 18-6 @ 7200rpm. This thing will fly to the moon!
I did find out that the engine in my picture is not a 50cc but a 43cc. Oh well! The prints only call for a 35cc at the outside.

How's it going guys. Anyone got their's flying yet? I have a NIB 40 size Pilot Decathlon kit I am itching to start. These Pilot Decathlons are absolutely the most scale kits ever produced. They still hold true to this day even though they were designed so long ago. The only kit/arf that comes close to the Pilot kits is the newer 1/3 scale Hangar 9 arf that Mike McConville designed. He did a beautiful job on that one in my opinion. I have the 1/4 scale Pilot J-3 I need to finish as well. It's another one of the beautiful Pilot 1/4 kits.

I have files for all 4 plan sheets it you want them. Just take to FedEx Office and have them printed full size. I sold my plane and all copies of plans I had. I made these from original kit plans.

Seems a lot of people are after these plans. I have copies of the Pilot 96" , Dynaflyte 89" , the build guide for the Pilot version from 107"-180" and the RCM Electric Version plan (40-50 size) . If anyone is still looking. Scaled at 100%. Print at 100% for kit sizes.

Just picked up this Pilot 1/4 scale Decathlon, going to strip back and recover and find new cowl, I have a 26cc Zenoha to go in it. Look forward to flying this plane.

I'm working on a pilot 96" decathlon, has the g38 magneto motor in it. This was a scale build, and currently with servos, motor, no cowl or prop, no flight pack batteries, it weighs in at 18lbs +/-
Is this too heavy for this airframe? Seems like it's going to be a lead sled!!
