Need help--DA100/Han.9 1/3 Cap 232 cowl mt.
I need help, I am trying to install a DA-100 into a Hanger 9 1/3 Cap 232. Is there a way to do this without maknig swisscheese out of the bottom of the cowl. I am using the stock mufflers. Also, give me a hint on the baffleing.

I ended up cutting most of the bottom out so that I could take the cowl on and off without having to loosen the mufflers every time. I also used 10x32 black plastic screws to hold the cowl on. On the left side I had to make a small opening for the plug cap.
I did not use any baffling on my Cap at all. I have flown it for a year now and have never had a heating problem to speak of.

I did exactly as PCM did. I have no baffleing either and no heat issues at all and I fly here in Louisiana(Very hot). If you notice most of the 40% planes that guys like Blaine Austin,Mike Sauls,Joe Hunt fly, they also have as large an opening they can get on the bottom of the cowl. That hot air has too get out.

My cap has cans on a DA100, but you might find these pics helpful anyway.

I did mine this way. I can get the cowl on and off very easily. I can reach my choke without fumbling around and the heat leaves the engine compartment quickly.
Hope this is helpful.

Hey JohnVH,
I've got a brand new wing tube for the H9 33% Extra, that I'm ALMOST sure would work in your CAP. I think they are the same. My C/F wing tube is scheduled to be here on Thu. Let me know if you are interested in the aluminum tube. I'll give it to you for a steal...

Have you ever got to see Jimmy Franklin's Waco with the turbine fly? He comes across the sky low and so slow. You start to hear a turbine whine as he points vertical. Then he just rockets up gaining speed on the way.
That is what a DA100 is to a Hanger9 Cap.
