Im guessing he saved it? Thats why I dont screw around on maidens, make sure everything is right for a few flights.

Nice bird.

Yes, I saved it. Not for the weak of heart, that is for sure. Motor didn't have any time on it yet and I had no business jerking around with torque rolls so early in the game.

Seems to me when an engine doesnt kick over after 2-3 flips tops its not really broken in. What motor were you running in it?

The motor wasn't broken in. It was a maiden flight.

Just for the record, was that a DA-150 or a 3W-150 that quit in the air?
We need some more fuel for the engine wars.

No need to fuel the fire on this one. It was CLEARLY operator error. I'm using a DA 150 and getting outstanding support from Brian. I have no complaints. Since that first brain fart, the motor has run very well. Take another look at the video and listen to how I was sawing on the throttle. I run a JR high speed digital servo to boot - I had just jammed the throttle to punch out of the torque roll when the excitement started.

At least you saved it, good thing you were not trying to touch the rudder!! That would have been bad. Break in that engine, and post some 3D vids!
