Finishing my plane today..........now for a bigger landing gear for it because of that DA-100's prop needs more clearance.........plus it looks better with a bigger gear.....

I have a CH ignition on a 26cc weed eater engine. Range check with Throttle servo at full power engine running and the antenna collapsed the throttle servo goes from high to idle and then back to high.. With antenna extended.. no problem. Range check 100 feet. Throttle servo is 3 inches from the electronic ignition. Could it be the location of the electronic ignition or the spark plug? The Spark lead does not have a metal shield over the plug..

DON'T FLY IT!!!

We just lost an old bird with a CH Ignition on 2.4Ghz and it was doing the same thing intermittently on the ground. Got it up and then throttle went nuts going up and down then lost control after a little while with the throttle still going nuts all the way to the crash site...

Move the throttle servo or have the ignition looked at...JMHO...

I have had one problem, 50 cc yak, 50cc Fuji EI, (boat anchor), both new and the throttle went nuts also, never did fly the airplane with that motor, bought a DL 50 moved the throttle servo a few inches back and no problems.

Where do you guys buy your plastic throttle pushrods? I've checked all 4 LHS' here and none of them carry one. The one shop told me I'm supposed to use a metal pushrod on large scale gas planes, but I know this is complete BS if I want to keep my throttle servo intact for any length of time.

I'm thinking about simply epoxying a rod of carbon fiber instead. At least they all carry this.

Sport Flyer, I have contacted CH and am awaiting his answer... I am going to change the servo and see if that helps.. BTW am using a Hitec receiver.... have read the threads on the PCM and PPM and it seems the PCM just masks the problem and it is still there..

Thanks for the reply ALL.. as you can see the last comments of others go back to 2004...

Sport Flyer, I had a suggestion.... range check at full throttle OK, with the antenna down at greater than 75 feet this will occur... I was at about 150 feet. Will test this out next... if antenna down at 50 feet and if it does it again, will try something else...

i have mine on one side of the engine box...and the ignition on the opposite side wrapped in foam, the battery of the rx is exactly behind the ignition and i have never seen a problem on it.

I mount my throttle servo like this on all my gassers. Hundreds of flights no problems. Ignition is pretty close on this plane but no problem flown one season.
