Carden 35% edge - ZDZ 80?
The list weight for the carden 35% edge is 26 lbs. Has anyone flown one with a zdz 80. Do you think it would be enough for some pullout of a torque roll. The 80 is the lower recommended size and the 80 is almost as powerful as some of the older 100's. Is 25 -25.5 lbs possible with a zdz 80 and lots of stuff moved up for balance

My guess is that it will fly but not unlimited, It flys great on my gp 330l but it weighs only 23 lbs, I don't think the extra couple pounds will make that big a difference. You should ask Dick Hansen, hes on these forums alot and can tell you for sure.
35% Carden- nice!

RE: Carden 35% edge - ZDZ 80?
Hey Tom,
how about a 33% Aeroworks EDGE 540T.... lighter than the CARDEN and would do as well as the COMP ARF with the 80..... not a tough build either
I have built several of the 33% AW Edges and I for one think they are a definite top competitor. They build a little lighter than the ARF version, have the same span as the 35% CARDEN and fly incredibly well

RE: Carden 35% edge - ZDZ 80?
A friend of mine has been flying a Carden 35% CAP with a ZDZ 80 and a KS canister muffler exhaust. Was turning a Mejzlik 26x10 at almost 7000 RPM. Going to a Mejzlik 27x10 early this season and see how that does. Anyway, the CAP was over 28 lbs, including a B&B smoke system, and the ZDZ flew it great. Seemed to have good vertical, and would hover and TR as well as we could do it (still learning!), and still have plenty left over to pull out.
