Default 1/3 Scale Scratch Built AirBike

I just received my High Flight magazine. In the pictures from the fly-ins, there is a gentleman who has a 1/3 scale scratch built AirBike with a Z23 engine. I was curious if anyone had any information on the plane - i.e. what he used for the frame, any plans, etc.

Thanks

Keith

That would be my dad. He located the 3 views and had me scale it up to about 1/3 scale and then plot it out. The fuselage is made of dowel rods. It flys very well. If you would like I can email you his phone number to get more details on the construction. I know he had to widen the firewall to get the G23 to fit.

I love the internet!!!!! Yes, please send me his phone number. You can PM it to me or e-mail it, either one. My name is Keith Sessions so he will know who is calling.

BTW - where did he get the pilot?

Me too, please, on the phone number, I'm thinking along the lines of a GI JOE type pilot, and 1/2 scale with the G62

Search for team airbike. That's the company name for the full scale ultralight. T.E.A.M.

The full scale one used to be TEAM - then went to ISON - then this @#$% got into a legal battle with the guy who owned ISON. Bottom line was the @#$% had deeper pockets than the ISON owner and the rights to the Airbike went to him. There are no longer any plans or kits being produced which is sad for everyone.

Still, it is a neat plane to model. Search Google under TEAM Airbike or ISON Airbike.

The GI Joe would work if you were doing a 1/6 scale version (GI Joe = 12" tall - average adult male = 6') There is a guy in Germany which makes larger scale high detailed pilots for sailplane pilots, but they are expensive.

Well, that's not what I had in mind at all.
I want one of those airbikes from the Star Wars series...remember the chase scene thru the jungle?
Anyhow, the closest to that has been zipping along creeks and streams in a Robinson R22 heli

The Airbike is now being built in Germany and several examples are now flying around the skies of Europe, see site:
