Default DP 330L with Moki 1.8

Just got a really good deal on a real low time Moki 1.8 to put on this plane. I know a 2.10 would be better, but I am not that good at 3D yet. I dont have a engine mount because the person I bought it from had a zdz 40 on it. Can anyone tell me a good engine mount to buy? Also, should I fill the hole he made for the carb in the firewall?

I use a 1.60FX on mine. The Moki is a better choice. You could use the Moki back plate mount or oder the stock mount directly from Patrick. The stock mount is pretty beefy.

My D&L Edge is the same size as your Dave Patrick Edge.
I used the Moki 180 and the back plate mount on mine. Works great.

Thanks Guys. I have tried to find a spec on the Moki radical mount but have not been able to. DP says I need 5 7/8 inches to the front of the thrust washer.

Your Moki 1.8 will be great on the DP Extra. I had a gasser in the DP Extra and it was heavy-ish. I have the 1.8 in my DP Edge and it flies great. I have had my Moki mounted on the radial backplate mound and on beam mounts. I like th beam mount on the Edge - couldn't get the thrust line right without it.

I have a DP Extra with a gas engine and I was wondering what size gas tank do you guys use for 1.8 - 2.1 for 12-15 minute flight.

Thanks.

I got my DP extra with a Moki 1.8, it was fun, but lacking in the vertical, went to a 50cc gasser, loved it. The 1.8 is fun, but the 2.1 seems to be the best match, but what a pair of fuel guzzlers, prepare to go broke.

Blue Ice,

Just check the version of your DP Extra. Mine is the second batch, and I coudn't balance with the OS 160FX, more than 500g of lead in the nose. I shifted to a Kroma 45cc, and it's perfect at 6.9 Kg.

The new models (laser cut) have a change in the wing positioning, so can ballance with glow engines without lead.

I think it is the 1st version. The canopy is held on by a bunch of screws.

24 oz tank. At max fuel burn is around 2 oz/minute. That gives 12 minutes no problem.
