RE: GP - Matt Chapman Cap 580 - Picture Finally Up!!
First of all, let me say that in no way is this post is a "sales pitch". I can say however, that I have had the opportunity for some evaluation flight time on the protoype GPM Cap 580, and at the time that I flew it, it had approx 100 flights on it during testing. It flies very light, and very true, and there were no noticeable areas of wear, or fatigue. I wouldn't have any problems taking the plane right from the box and go compete in an IMAC contest or any other event.
As noted in a prior post, where it was said that GP airplanes are put together with hot glue/and balsa, that is not the case, as with this plane also. It has all the right things going for it that an "aerobatic" lover would want... light, straight, and will hold up for more than 10 flights.

Futabaman, has corporate legal checked with Target (the Supermarket) to see if the bottom paint scheme is kosher with them?

I just know that everytime I see a Horizon Hobby ad in the magazine for either the 33% Extra or Edge, I have to look for that straight LE to see if it is the Edge. I don't doubt if I study them side by side, I can spot all sorts of suble differences.
One passing glace at the Cap 580, and you know it's Matt's plane.

Volfy...
The Target "circle" used for the chain stores is so drastically different from the one shown on the bottom of Matt's plane. The amount of circles, the thickness, ect. The designer of the scheme, took this into account, and there shouldn't be any issues with it.

Hey Matt:
I love the new scheme too. Looks like an attack from a giant paint- ball shootout. Is that what the "target" is for?
Course you could change that bottom a wee bit and get a sponsorship from a well known large dept. store chain. ;-)
Are you flying anywhere in the Northeast PA area any time soon?
I saw you a few years back at either Reading or Allentown and it was awesome. It seems the "real" airshows have packed their bags and moved out of the area the last few years. Really sad.
Regards,
Lee Snover

Now onto more practical matters...
Are the splatters done with Monocote? If so, I can just see the thin long streaks coming off with repeated cleaning wipes. I've had to deal with that kinda problem with the Super Decathlon I have, with all the stars bursts on it.

I am eagerly awaiting this CAP as I am a CAP fanatic. I agree with Matt, have fun and if you dont like it mve onto something else. To each their own.
I like the scheme!! Looks different than the other "standard" styled schemes out there.
I wont be able to afford the 33% but would like a 25% version if it does become available. [8D] Got a 1.60fx that needs a home

look at the cowl on the extra and then look at the edge. notice the checker on the extra.

Anyway, about the difference sizes, the 33% is just the plane I've being saving my Fuji 86T for. Came close to pulling the trigger on the H9 33% Sukhoi; now I'm glad I didn't. Still, I hope they come out with the 27-28% next - the 50cc class is just growing RED HOT.

.40 size /.72 4s size - I think - at least that's what Tower has the smaller one listed under on the website now but has no details listed.
