'' 3/4 Canopus and 1/4 Kerosene. No smell, no mess, same puffy white smoke as SuperDri and total cost is about 1/4 to 1/3rd that of SuperDri. ''

This is from the above link.

Camster
On the Futaba 9C you need to select a linear mix. I used the pmix number 6, with the settings from 100% to 50%. The mix seems backwards, but the 100% is "off" and the 50% is half speed, at full throttle. This pump puts out so much fluid that I don't program it to deliver anything like it's full amount. I'm running mine into a BME 44, so with a larger engine you may need more smoke fluid - just decrease the amount of mix at full throttle. I've set the mix also so that the pump is off (100% mix) at stick positions one and 2, and then 75% at stick position 3, 62% at four, and 50% at 5. I'm running a small 6v NiCd pack to power it. Hope that helps.

I would guess that the "Canopus" is what we call "Corvus", which is a form oil used in concrete forming. I've tried Corvus mixed with either diesel or kerosene (can't recall which) and while it smoked great, I recall the residue as being more oily than others. I've got a gallon of Bennett's and a gallon of MDW Super Dri, but have not really used them enough to know if one is better than the other.

Here's some information right off of Mike Goulian's website, on the requirements of his CAP for smoke oil:
2.3 Aircraft Smoke Oil

Smoke oil should be available before each flight and at the conclusion of each performance day. The barrels must be portable either in the back of a pickup truck or on a hand cart.

The smoke producing characteristic of oils vary so the correct oil must be supplied to produce dense white smoke. The preferred oil, Cannopus Oil #13, is by far the best smoke oil. If Cannopus is not available other paraffin based oils may be used. Acceptable are listed below.

Cannopus Corvus Oil 13 or 519 Standard Oil Facto 39
Texaco Regal ìBî Sun Oil Circle X
Shell Carnea 10 or 22 Union Oil Unax 105
Gulf Oil 370 Arco Duro-S 105
Exxon Faxam 40 Military #1010 Eng. Oil

Smoke Oil usage of each aircraft:
CAP 232 6 gallons per flight (20 gallons total)

Here is my 35% Edge DA100 and Sullivan Smoke pump. Super Dri oil. I have had the TME pump and I like the Sullivan a lot better.

What do you like in the Sullivan, as opposed to TME?

Things have changed with the TME.

I can vary the speed of the pump, as well as where in the throttle curve it activates
the pump.

I guess there are different models, and I don't know exactly which I have, but it's super.
No problems at all, and always an answer to any question I had through the forum on the
website.
