Hi guys,
Just found this on the United Kingdom Edge thead, I think he is the youngest to fly our Edge (broke Justin Getz record who is 13 and is flying PA Extra 330L)

A video can be found here http://media.putfile.com/Precision-Aerobatic-Edge-540

Matty (above) is 9 years old, and the video was of his 3rd flight with the Edge (it's 6th flight in total, hence why it's running rich), so he's still getting used to it, and was also a windy day, although this doesn't seem to bother the plane at all.

It's his first petrol, and so far he loves it.

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Darren,

I take it that you are Matty's father? Well done on supporting his hobby! Most 9 years old could only dream of owning their own 50cc plane!

here it comes straight from Cliff of Atlantahobby.com

"We might bring in a few with the container of MD's............ I like the looks of the PA Edge 540 and would do mine in electric!"
Cliff"

Hi Adad,

Yes I'm Matty's Father. We're getting a lot of support from Als Hobbies, which is what makes this possible.

We should see a bit more of Matty next year flying the Edge. I'll get some decent video if him and put it up over the next few weeks (if weather permits !!)

Cheers,

Darren

Mark,
I ran two 2800 lithiums and two HD MPI ACC 234 regulators purchased from Troy Built Models (TBM). These were run through Electrodynamics HD switches with charge ports that I already had. With the same servo setup as you are thinking about there was absolutely flawless performance. You will get some different opinions on the use of redundant battery systems on this sized plane, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I used a NoBS 4.8 1650ma Nimh pack for the ignition. FWIW, this was a good setup and you could probably get away with just one receiver battery. If going that way I would suggest then going to the 4800 pack.

Sorry,
Can't help you there as I sold the plane sometime back to AHPowelson, who has posted here before. I don't know if Abram still has the plane as he was looking to get into something larger. You might try and PM him and if he still has it with the same setup he might take a couple of pics for you.

Hi Mark,

DA 50cc is an excellent engine, we had 0 problems and we sold A LOT of them.. service is great as well.

It seems that half Australia decided to have the same present for Xmas as you did .. only 2pc left in stock, and next shipment is now in production due only at the beginning of Feb 2007! you gotta be quick

Hey Brian!

I sold it several months ago to a nice fella in Lehigh Acres. He, to the best of my knowledge, is still flying it. It had over a hundred flights on it when I sold it and still looked like new inside and out. I'm now flying 33% - 40%'s but I miss that Edge sometimes. It really is a great flying model.

I was running redundant batteries, regs and switches but ended up going down to a single battery (because I'm a weight freak). I could fly all day on a single 2800Mah Li Ion but I'd recommend the redundancy.

I think the best place to start is with the CG range PA recommends, i started on mine plane right in the middle, but i'm going to move it farther aft soon!
