I wouldnt worry to much about peak rpms just yet, once it is run in then you can lean it out a bit, its hard to say without hearing how rich it is. as long as it transitions well and hold the rpm i would be happy for now, could also be the prop!.

RE: PRECISION AEROBATICS EDGE540T
i'm not real cocerned at the moment. i was only thinking earlier that it hasn't had much fuel through it yet and still has unlimited vertical. so what do i have have to worry about.
i schecked my exhaust and there seems to have plenty of oil going through. as long as it isn't too lean.
i'm finding it hard to hold in a hover. the 22x10 just wants to keep pulling it up...

Hi Edge 450T owners,
Have any of you put your aicraft through Lomcevac tumbles? There are quite a few versions (see http://www.fightercombat.com/vid_03Sep04.htm) as I was wondering how well this plane tumbled? I hear that it lands really well due to a stable low speed capability. Do you have any other feedback or perhaps a video?
Cheers

what brand and size prop is that? Looks really good with the carbon fibre. How is the edge in the air? I know a few people who are interested in getting one....

RE: PRECISION AEROBATICS EDGE540T
who did you order your props through? I have been told that the bigger aerobatic birds fly a heap better. Less affected by wind and turbulence, and are just a heap smoother to fly! I can't wait to get mine!! Saving as much cash as I can so I can get it early next year!!!!

Hi, Feral 63
I am over at parkes and am at the moment flying a hanger 9 Edge 540 78 inch with a YS140 fz in it and I am thinking of going to a Da powered Edge but I am wondering if is worth the extra out lay and if the little bit bigger plane does fly that mutch better. What your thoughts and what were you flying before the gasser.

Instead of holding the throttle at one position, try pumping it up and down. It takes practice but will control the altitude much better IMO.
If you try to just go a click higher or lower, it's too hard to control. A guy at my field with a ZDZ 50 had the same problem.

How would this perform as an electric? Say... A C50 14XL and 10S4P LiPo with a 22 x 12 "E" prop??

RE: PRECISION AEROBATICS EDGE540T
Hi Guys
The PA 540T edge sounds like a good plane.
But all out there must not be over the moon about it. Is there anything bad you have to say about it??
Not trying to put the PA down or anything I would just like to know.
Here in Perth WA the DA50 is not getting a good name. A lot of the Imac guys are having to get work done on them. But the guys at DA do a good job at getting the motors back in quick time which is good.
I would like to know if a CRRC-pro 45 would do the job?
Its dry weight is 1650g(not including the capacitor discharge ignition).
Its maximum output is 4.2ps/9500rmp and the speed range is 1600-7800rpm
Do you think this motor is adequate enough to still pull the plane around? or are you saying that the 50cc is the smallest motor you would put in it?

RE: PRECISION AEROBATICS EDGE540T
The CRRC-pro 45 would work no problem, At half the cost of a DA50 it would be hard to beat.
The DA50 is the upper limit for this plane and it does not need all that power.

Was just notified that the PA Edge's have arrived in the US, through Troy Built Models, and mine is due to arrive here Wednesday. How have yours been holding up and any building tips for us on the other side of the pond?
Tell us more about the CRCC-pro45.

Hi Kezza
We have new engine coming. 40cc with total weight of 1,450gr inc muffler, ign, engine all!! This is really a light one. Can swing nicely 21x8 and we will probably start to distribute it very soon. Already sold a few (pre ordered) so you might want to check this option for the Edge. The price is good and we will probably offer them only with PA planes.
