New to Gas, have questions about exhausts
Hi
I have just brought a Wild Hare 28% Extra 300LX about three weeks ago and I am looking at the idea of using a canister muffler; I will be using a DA50-R for power.
What I would like to know is what canister muffler people are using in this plane with the DA50. I see on the Wild Hare website a MTW td75 used as an example with the MVVS 56.
I was thinking about a KS #83 but would like some feed back on this muffler with respect to fitting inside the fuselage. Is there a website for KS exhausts other than the DA SITE?
I need to know
-what canisters people are using in this plane
-what does the canister weigh with header
-are there any problems with them i.e. vibration, falling apart
-most important will it affect the throttle response or mid range
Any replies would be good.
The reason I want to use a canister is because we have noise restrictions although the club is pretty relaxed on it and also the fact that I have an almost complete 2x2 pattern model with an OS140RX on a seven chamber muffler and the motor is so quiet when running on the test stand, there is more noise from induction than exhaust .
That's my fair share of questions, Thanks Anthony.

Do yourself a favor and call up DA. that would be the best source.

I know I should of asked in the Wild Hare forum but I'll thought I would get more replies here.
any way I not only need to know about the placement of the canister in the fuse but also
how they run, weight ect, same as what Ben beyer was asking
