40% Aerotech Yak build pics
Hello,
I recieved my Yak kit. I was number 3 on the first run of kits. It was worth the wait. Nice detail to the parts, sheeting is nice and light. Man its going to be cool. I have posted some pics of the first 3 hours of building. ILL keep you guys up on the progress as I go. The holidays are going to kill my building time, but oh well.
Thanks

Hello,
Wow that looks nice. Its great to see the attention to detail in the plane. I can attest to the fuselages at least on the Aerotech's Ive built assemble quick. I have a 40% Yak on order also for March. Nice job!!
Happy Holidays

Hello,
With the way the fuse goes together its easy to do that in 3-4 hours. I have built 4 of their kits to date. Now sheeting foam is the other pain on any kit.
Thanks

Hi,
Im planning on using a DA150 on mufflers. Believe me the build is not slow. The have sent a kit that is really easy and squares eaisly. I hope to have it in the bones in 2-3weeks due to the holidays. I like the laser cut YAK logo in the fuse. Nice touch.
Happy Holidays

You will be very pleased with all aspects of this build,. I've built two of John's kits, a velox 42% and a 35 % 540... I've got an order for a YAK 40% due soon... I'am thinking a ZDZ 210 for it only because of the large frontal area...Your thinking????

Are the wings and stabs came sheeted? Is the fuse well rounded? What do you think the weight will be? I have feeling that you probably need DA-150 with full length KS 1080 pipes (don't take KS1090 they havier and more expensive plus designed for bigger motor) to get this plane truly unlimited. Looking forward for more info about the plane.
Thanks
Thanks

Looks like a very nice kit so far...what is the quality of the foam cutting like?...looking at the pics it looks a little rough, or maybe its just the high resolution pics.Do you have the glasswork..maybe you could post some pics of those as well.Keep up the good thread, there are many of us who have been waiting for pics of this plane and are keen to see how the build turns out.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hey 40, thanks for posting this build, I am curious to see it come together. Sheeting foam scares me because I haven't done it.
