42% Velox selection?
Hello,
Im building a 42% Velox from Aerotech. I know how good my 3W106 is, but Im liking the reports from folks on the ZDZ160. Any thoughts out there?
Thanks

RE: 42% Velox selection?
Good engines, but beware if they come out with a newer version, the don't make parts for older versions if they have been changed in the newer design. Happend to a friend, he has the older ZDZ 160, he needs a new jug, the design is different from the champ that they sell now. They no longer make replacemnt jugs for the older 160. Unless he can find a used one he has a junk engine. Other than that it's a awsome engine, starts easy with tons of power!!!! But then again it's in a Aeroworks Giles designed for a 100cc powerplant.....it's nuts.

RE: 42% Velox selection?
I have seen the 42% fly on a 160 with canisters. The guy said that it weighted around 40 lbs. From what I have seen, I would have liked more power. The next step in power after the 160 champ is up to you but a light built 42% should fly well on a 210... For sure the airframe can take a couple of pounds more due to the engine.
