I just went to the web site and they have some videos up!! I am trying to download one now but it isn't co-operating with me! haha

Wow I just checked out the 30%yak video and that thing looks great!! It seems like it is very stable for a small plane with hardly any wing walk on the harriers. I tell you from what I have seen I am convinced that these will be some great flying planes!!

Videos look great. Some issues with the voice dubbing where it doesn't look to be sync
with the video but I was getting Garret's points. I liked the one with the 40% Yak,
extremely stable. Didn't see any imac stuff with it but 3Ding looked great.

And no, I'm not getting one until I see reports from other people that things are as
advertised. :-)

I was pretty imressed with the 40% Yak myself... the only thing I couldn't figure out was the comment on a 150cc is plenty engine... yet they state the weight was 47 lbs.... Seems heavy for a 150cc engine... maybe they meant 37 lbs?

I think maybe they were implying that that engine was plenty strong for an aiplane of its physical size! Considering it has like a 127" wingspan I think what they mean is that even a plane of its physical size could be flown on a da150. But I don't know, it seemed pretty nimble even with the 150 and pulled out of hovers nicely!

I just watched the video. I saw the 47 lbs and thought that it might be a typo. Maybe they were wrong in the conversion. It had some pretty tight waterfalls. Would have liked to see vertical performance out of a hover. Maybe it was 47 lbs. Talk about a rough field. I hope thats not as good as it gets over there for those fliers. That would $uck.

Watched a few of the videos, the 40% yak is impressive. Anybody else notice the Edge and Yak profiles seem to have their names reversed on the SITE and the videos?

I have great news to those who express an interest in TOC1 planes. I sent him an e-mail regarding his planes this morning. I asked him if anybody has orderd his planes yet so that I could talk to them or so that the public could get a review of his planes. By lunch time I got a response from Matt. He was extremely nice and said that several planes shipped out today! I also recomended that he become a member on this forum to answer questions and offer tech. support for their aircraft. I am still waiting on a reply for that and possibly another good reply on another question that I asked that would benefit us all on the wallet. But I can't say anything more about that till I hear back from him! Just thought I would share the news, and they plane on adding six more videos to the web site today!

Ok in less than 10 min I had another e-mail back from the guys at toc1. They said that all the big magazines will be doing a review of their planes soon! Also he said to anybody that buys two or more (which could mean you and a buddy each buy one and get a discount) of their planes will get a bit of a discount. He didn't say how much but he said for a limited time he will offer the discount to help get some planes in circulation and get their name out. He didn't comment on joining the rcuniverse forum but I suspect he will once he gets a few planes to the public! Spread the news and lets see what this new company is all about! I know as soon as I get the money I will be buying one of his 30% yaks!

The only review I would be interested in reading are those done by fellow pilots, not magazines. I have not read one report in a magazine that has had a negative comment about a plane in a long long time. I don't know if there is money exchanging hands, but come on now, not every plane they review is perfect. Construction is never perfect, nor are the designs. Theyare never commented on and only ever praise every plane they review. I for one don't subscribe to any R/C mags for that reason. You only get false reports. So, take what you read in the mags with a very very large grain of salt, becasue the report they give may be skewed.

Neo out!!!!!!

I hope it is just me, but when I look at the 40% yaks horizontal stabilizer all I see is the 43% G-202 stabilizer. Anyone else??

Check out the TOC1 web site! They have made some changes and have added some new pictures! The 35% Yak looks sweat! Also Cactusaviation is going to be selling toc planes for those of you who are worried about buying from overseas! But still waiting on some reviews!

I ordered one of the profiles. It should be interesting. So far, toc1 has had good communications with me. I want the EF Yak, because the 68" version is awesome... I want the 50cc now.

Here's a Yak at our club... hopefully, have a video soon.

I put my name on the list for their new 35% Yak. They said only 15-20 planes were going to be available in May. He also said that they were going to have a different scheme too. Let's see what happens. I will definately post my build on this thread when I receive my Yak.
I think $869.00 for 107'' is a good deal. I'm just a little weary of the weight issue. Maybe I could cut some weight off with a lighter motor or drill some holes in the rudder and fuse to lighten it up a bit.

craz, I will be paying close attention to your build thread. I have my eye on the 35% yak. I will be anxious to see how it turns out. Heck, I am anxious to see how the planes they are now selling turns out. I hope buyers will post threads on these planes. The ones coming out now will let us know what to expect out of the ones coming in may.

I'm debating Bry...What engine should I use? I have a 330L from Fiberclassics and I'm using a Da 100 but man, that's some serious money to drop on another airplane. I'm thinking of a ZDZ-80 maybe...I know that I will definately use 8411's all the way around but 31 pounds is what is really concerning me. My 330 is 24.9 LBS and it's like flying a big feather. But on the other hand I have a Wild Hare 300 LX and I have a DA 50 and it dead sticked on me this weekend and at almost 18lbs it was like trying to fly a brick. I wonder how 31lbs would be in a dead stick situation?????

I have no idea what the plane will actually weigh. However, with the possibility of a 30lb plane I would not buy any other motor than the BME 110. It has by far the most power for it's class, and the fact that it is 2 lbs lighter than a DA or 3W might knock the overall plane weight down into the 28-29 lb range. I would totally rule out putting a zdz 80 on it unless you just want to fly circles. I like the zdz engines, but I think it would take a zdz 120 to 3D a 30 lb plane. It is a big plane with big wings, so I bet it would still fly great at 30lbs, but you will need an engine up to the task. With over 2200 sq in of wing, I wouldnt worry about dead sticks... It should still be ok.

If I buy another engine, it definately won't be the BME 110.. Too many problems associated with that engine. I think I will stay with the DA-100. It's just going to hurt the pocket book again.

I know of zero problems with the BME 110. You will lack any kind of verticle with the DA on a 31 lb plane. You have to get what you are comfortable with, and if that is DA then go for it. I'm sure since that motor is kind of heavy it will be easier to balance the yak. No problem with agreeing to disagree. I don't want this to turn into one of those retarded DA vs BME threads.

DA vs BME??? Lets do it.

Na...just kiding. Your right, thats retarded. A lot of people are trying to make up thier mind about what engine to go with. I have had that problem in the past but what else are you gonna do?

I hate to admit it but I've been one of those retards before.

So what about the 30% yak??? I've only watched the vid about 100 times and it looks nice. I sure would like to see one of these up close or hear from some people who have one...Would someone pleeeeeaaaaase help me make up my mind?

Yeah spinner, me too.... I have thrown my opinion in on those silly debates before too.

I think the 30% yak looks awesome too. If the 35% really does end up at 30 lbs I may decide the 30% yak is the one I would choose. That would be perfect for my BME 50!

No, seriously, the video of the yak does look very nice. I am sure it flys great.
