That's good to hear Dennis! I still have not flown mine yet.... still playing the weather game over here And to top it off (i am not complaining as this is long overdue) but our field is getting a new entry and paved parking lot, so we are shut down for awhile[]..... ohh well, just awhile longer, the anticipation is killing me!

We are doing the same. Adding 300ft to our run-way, making it 800ft of black-top. Doubled the parking and will have electric for the trailers. I will keep your name on a list to call you later. We will have a big bird fly-in July 28 to 30. We are 1.5miles from exit 28 on I-65. Motels are at the exit. You are close enough to make it in about 4hrs. Bring your plane. Dennis

I finally got to fly mine again today. As I already knew, I prefer this plane over my hanger 9 cap but after today I will say that there is no comparison. Maybe its was a small cg thing, maybe the fact that I shaved about 9 oz.s off of her but the only thing my h9 cap did better was harriers and now they are equal in that respect. As far as precision, I have been working on the intermediate sequence for this years imac and a couple of manuevers seem next to impossible to do cleanly or even hardly at all with the h9, with the gp 580, peice of cake. granted I may not be scoring 10's yet with it as far as my skill level and the fact that the gp is still fairly new but it is by far the best plane I have flown. For those that worry about wing rock in harriers, I actually had a comment about it harriering good.

Babflyer, That's great! Good to hear you are liking it! Glad it went well.... mine is sitting down here in the shop fully assembled, still waiting for some tweeks on the radio, i have been working on other projects getting ready for this season. Our field is still waiting for blacktop so we are still closed yet.... getting close tho, can't wait to try it for myself! Great news!!

Hey everybody!!

my plane arived yesterday..and today i got some time to play with it!!

first i like to say thanks to Als hobbies and Al for the perfect pacage he made for my new toy to come to Greece with out a scrach!!

best service always from them![sm=thumbup.gif]

,,,,,,,,,so the plane!! oowww!!!! this is one big beutyfull plane!!and the price is well low!!!
\

i did got the bllack main wing tube eddition!

now i have some problems [sm=disappointed.gif]and before i contact great planes i like to have some advises fro you guys you are already owners!

so first small think is: nose color is lighter than fuses yellow....
photos r below biut not realy clear...sorry ....does yoursmuch exacly????

secont think is.....
the wing tube couldnt slide in the right wing.....i got the sant paper and open litle the hole of the wing and i did managed to fit it in!
.....nest i notice that the hole on thee same wing with the blindthreat where the plastick skrew goes is not senter.....

so i think it will give eleron movment....still i havent place the pins to center it!.....

last is the rear holes for the stab tubes!!
i cut the rear monocote hole and i found the clasik fiberglass tube inside the fuse the inside runs the aluminium stab tube.

then i go to cut the frond hole.

nothing inside!!!!\......just a hole and some broken wood on the edge.....
i have open only the one site of the fuse the other i left it as it was.....

so i dont like to say i know everythinkk but should there be a fiberglass tube to show the way and the right angle???????

do you thinnk i should contuct great planes????would you think i deserve a replace part???

and if yes in which cases???

im kind of sad but this can turn me down .....i have fell in love with this plane!!\\\

thnk you for any help and your time !!!

sorry agan for my bad english!!

best regards
George

sent you a pm. Maybe others can comment on the tail tubes for sure before I can but I think I had 2. I would be getting on the horn with Great Planes. Being your overseas that is a bummer, I would think you could send it all back for another if you were in the states no problem. Hopefully you can to.

George, you said you got the plane from Al's Hobby? Where are they located? If i were you i would start there.... call them, explain the situation and see what they recommend. Maybe they will be able to order the parts and get them out to you that way. If not Contact Great Planes and ask the same.... That's a Bumb deal there.... You definately deserve new parts on that one.... The only thing you have against you is like Babflyer said, you are oversea's otherwise they would swap it out with no problems, not sure how they will handle it being located oversea's... Be sure to let us know how it turns out!

i am putting the da100 on my cap but i have a couple of questions. first of all the manual says to use the engine template in the back of the manual but my manual did not include the template so can anyone scan one and emal it to me or can someone give me the measuremets to make my own. and secondly i want to replace the stock main gear with either a carbon fiber or fiberglass gear. i have checked with troy built models and they do not have the carbon fiber one right now, does any one know someone that might have one? thanks. darryl

D/A in my experience has no special marked boxes..... they assemble and test run all their engines at the shop and wrap them in plastic and ship them in a cardboard box filled with popcorn filling (styro).... the ignition comes in it's own plasic bag as well.... and of course a manual which consists of some photo-copied pages..... nothing special, but when you open it and inspect the "bling" itself, the package won't matter!
