Hi Joe Nall Pilots<
I would like to thank and congradulate all pilots that attended the Joe Nall this past weekend for a safe and successful event. Especially the float flyers. It was good to see lots of the regulars as well as many new flyers at the lake this year. I truly look forward to seeing so many old friends every year. The float flying event went exceptionally smooth this year. You guys did an excellent job of self regulating the lake which helps make my job easier. We had more people on Friday than anytime in the past. This kept me so busy that I was unable to get my SuperCub out of the trailer, but don't pitty me 'cause I fly it numerous hours per year. Also, congradulations to Doug Iames for a successful water takeoff with his Goose. We have been waiting three years to see it fly from the water, it was a sight to behold. Remember, if you want to do lots of flying at the Joe Nall, bring your float plane.
Thanks again for all of the fun and friendship.

Great Meet. Unfortunately, the 3Der's had a hard time staying away from front and center over the runway. Landing became a harriwing experience at times. One chap was told not to hover over the runway and proceeded to fly at a 30 degree angls along the runway emitting heavy smoke. He was good but the stunt was dumb.

And some of the full scale aerobats.
Thanks to Matt and Michael for performing and dealing with all of us swarming their planes before they had the chance to unbuckle.

I did get to see the bomb drop, but happened to be back at the trees when you did it. It was very impressive anyway. I hope to develop some scale building skills, but after 23 years of flying beaters mostly, it will be difficult. However, getting to see planes of the quality of yours keeps me pumped up! Maybe your next project can be a 190 D9 or a TA152. hint, hint...
Anyway, great planes and piloting skills. Keep it up!

I also got to see the 'Bomb Drop'. The plane released his bombs but only one fell while the other was stuck and didn't release... right away anyway. After a couple more passes and a hard turn the second bomb released, zoomed over my head by 4 feet and boinked this guy in the noggen! HA HA... nice shot! Do not try this stunt at home... no animals where hurt during the stunt. LMAO!!![:-]

Wednesday night some of my buddies caught a guy stealing a 90 size chopper. The owner and my friends where chasing him between the trailers. They called the law and they found 2 10X transmiters in his RV too.
Anybody got a rope?!

Note to the Joe Nall organizers: Outstanding job!! Great facilities, great show, and even the vendors had good food at reasonable prices. The BBQ was fantastic. I only saw room for improvement in one way: Bob Sadler should never tell the crowd that they are not showing enough appreciation through applause, yee-has, etc. That always backfires because it dampens the crowd and makes the pilots feel unappreciated. A good announcer gets appreciation from a crowd without nagging for it. It is hard to do, but that is what makes really good announcers so rare.
Once again, great show. This was my first time, but I'll be back next year.
