Default RE: Cap X

I too have the new color scheme cap x. I have a YS 140 sport for it and was wondering what is the best prop for this engine/plane combo. I have a menz ultra 17X10 and Biela 17X10. Will these be OK for this engine?

thanks,

Doc

APC 18 x 6 with 20% nitro....

or Mejzlik 18 x 6 with 15% nitro...

tastes great and less filling

On the NEW Cap X has everyone been mounting the servos near the rudder tray and using cf linkages to the elevator halves? I have an OS 1.60 and all the stuff to go either setup. Just want some honest opinions on setups ect. I dont like to add any weight and already have a lion for the RX and mini RX.

On my Cap-X I have an O.S. 1.60 in it and everything is set up exactly the was the manual says (ele servos in back and all) and the C.G. came out perfect with the only diff being I moved the battery pack behind the firewall. I had read alot about people having C.G. problems but Chip helped me set this plane up while I was down in AZ for a while and everything came out as advertised with no weights or mods.

hey guys, i have one of the first cap-x's in the red, white and blue scheme with the breitling lettering on it. i have a moki 1.80 with a ziger 18 x 8 prop, it has unlimited vertical. now i want to put a good tru turn spinner on it, but im not sure which one to use. anyone have any ideas? i have a 3" tru turn now that was on my 90 size funtana with a 1.00 saito, but the shaft hole is too small and tru turns web site says i need to send it to them to have it enlarged. if anyone has any suggestions, im all ears. i need a 3", but is there a certain model of 3" i need? maybe ill get lucky and chip will chime in. thanks everyone!

I just drill 'em to fit. Just be careful not to get it out of round. I drilled mine for the Brison in my Cap X.

The 3" spinner works, but a 2-7/8", once spaced for clearance, is a better fit.

I had planned to put a Brison 3.2 on mine, but decided it is just too much engine. I decided to experiment with the BCMA 40CC engine. It is very light, and puts out similiar power to a Brison 2.4, 40CC. I am held up a little, with getting my Cap done, as we just acquired a 66 acre flying site, and all my time is going into projects for that. It will be interesting, to see what this engine does, though.

I got my Cap on the Balancer, last night, and I have to add 9 oz's to the firewall, with the BCMA 40 on there. I have metal gear servo's in the tail, but even so, I guess that shows how lite the BCMA engines are. I hate adding non functional weight.

The manual gives the CG, in reference to the wing tips. It appears that to be in the the middle of the CG range, the 3.25" inches at the tip, is about 5.5" from the leading edge, at the cut out. Can anyone varify this???
