RE: Aeroworks new 35% Extra 260
It flies really good and rolling harriers are quite easy with the plane. The harriers are not as stable as other planes but very controllable.

That's interesting. Mine is quite nice in high alpha. What are you comparing it to when you say "not as stable". Just curious. I imagine our idea of "stable" is just a little different. Mine will dip a wing if you let that wing get too low, or if you feed in too much rudder or get a little crazy on throttle blipping, but most planes will do that. In an elevator, for example, it is absolutely just plain rock solid! I just got mine flying again after converting it and not flying it for like 6 months. I forgot how much I really enjoy it!

RE: Aeroworks new 35% Extra 260
I compare it to 2 other planes I have.
The first one is a 25% Cap 232 that you see in my avatar. This one is just about as stable as the 35% Extra 260. It was my primary plane for more than 2 years.
The second one is a Great Planes Extra 330L 33% that I modified for 3D. It only has enlarged tail surfaces but flies incredibly light. This one is rock solid in harriers, much more than the AW Extra. It was my primary plane for 2 years also so I can say that I know these planes quite well.
Now don't get me wrong, I like the AW Extra very much. It harriers well but I have to work a little more than what I am used to. Torque rolls, waterfalls, inverted harriers, knife edge spins are all very easy and much better looking than with my previous planes. I am very impressed by the 3D abilities of the plane but even more impressed by the precision flying. I have tried one 40% one time and to be honnest, I think I prefer my 35%.
My CG is right on the wing tube if it makes any difference... The main difference may be that mine is heavier than yours?? Did not weight mine yet.

Mine is right at the back of the wing tube, or about 3-5/8" aft of the LE at the wingtip, and mine is electric, so no CG change from a full tank of fuel. it may be you CG that makes it different, for sure, and mine is most definitely lighter than yours, unless you have a BME in yours? My weight, just under 27 pounds with batteries, is less than the dry weight of the majority of the DA/3W-powered units. Still, I have seen these perform solid in the 26.5-28 pound range, so the weight is probably not as much a contributing factor as the CG. But if you are content with the CG where it is for all other flying, don't change it.
