Default G-62 PLanes

I may be picking up a couple of used G-62 engines. One will be going on a TF Corsair.

Looking for ideas for the other engine. Looking for a low wing taildragger, bibes are ok. I am not much into the Caps or Extras.

Preferably an ARF, but a fast building kit would be ok.

Considering the Giant Aeromaster.

Default G62

I had the same question about 4 mo. ago. I didn't want to build a war bird, didn't want to spend that much building time.
Everyone came back with the Giant Stinger.
Got it built doesn't take long but it has a lot of ABS in it. The cowl, wheel pants, turtle deck and the front tank cover. I re-inforced the turtle deck with fiberglass and wood stringers, bought fiberglass cowl and wheel pants. Did the same to the front tank cover as the turtle deck.
Haven't flown it yet but haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it.
Mine weighs about 18 lb. looks good. The wing is very big so are the control surfaces.
Might be the plane for you.

Thanks L84,

The Stinger does look a good plane. At 18lbs the G-62 would toss it around pretty good .

Are the wings 2 pieces? Any wing that large (84" I think) I have to be able to break it down for now.

The 62 is a great choice for the Aeromaster, real sweet!

I understand that Aeroworks is going to have a Edge ARF designed for the G62. About a 90" wingspan. So hold on the those G62's

The Edge sounds good. But there are so many Edge's and CAps at the field, I am looking for something different. But I am going to hang on to the G-62's or at least try

Chook,

Your Aeromaster looks real good. I need a bi-plane in my arsenal . I have heard the Aeromaster is pretty easy to build?

No mods and easy to build, I aquired it for building a kit, as shown RTF. Not sure what the weight is but the G62 pulls it with authority. Very aerobatic but lands like a butterfly.

Hmmm. An AT-6. That's an idea. But the Corsair Retracts will set me back some. I think the AT-6's is probably around $250-300.

Probably should go with something not scale. Although it could probably be built simple enough without a lot of detail and still look good.

AT6 retracts should be less than Corsair, they don't rotate. If you don't use scale Robarts, Springair would work.
