Plans Christen Eagle OK Model/Pilot
Hi,
Back in the 80's, OK Models had a kit of 66" Christen Eagle.
Is there somebody who still has these plans and is willing
to make a copy of it...
I'm more than happy to pay for it of course.
Thanks, have a nice X-mas!
Arne.

I have the complete kit of Pilot Christen Eagle 11 including plans and instructions. Balance point is inline with the rear cabane, ie, directly where it fits on the fuselage. If you still want copies of the plan, send me an email or message on this site. Tony.

Tony,
If you still have a copy of the manual, could you scan it and send it?A friendacquired what I believe is the Pilot Christen Eagle but of course, it has no manual. Actually, if you know of any Pilot-specifics for this plane, that would help as well. The person thatthis wasbought from indicated that the plane is an Indy but not much is adding up. Do you have any photos of your kit? There are some odd things about thethis one, starting with the cowl and wheel pants. Someone tried to start it and has hacked up the wheel pants, which can be repaired or cleaned up and used for molding purposes. The cowl is a two-piece unit, most of the other kits are one-piece that Ihave looked at.
Thanks,
Dave

RE: Plans Christen Eagle OK Model/Pilot
I am the guy that has the Eagle kit. Photos attached, she is in sad shape but can be resurrected.
The guy I bought it from sold it as an Indy kit, and there are even Indy instructions for a CEII, but they do not match what I have.
I've included some pictures ... can you confirm this is the OK/Pilot kit? She has a top wingspan of 65.5".If you have the instruction sheets for this arf and could email or post them, I'd be inyour debt ... not that I could pay you back. I'd be willing topay postage and copy fees for hardcopy if that is easier.
I really don't need the instructions except that the firewall puzzles me. There isno engine box to mount to, and these odd angle pieces are screwed to the firewall with tiny 4-40's. No way a big engine would stay attached to it asis.
If I can't get instructions, I'll wing it and come up with my own design.
Regards,
Rikk

A bit more data.
The tail number is "N2FC" as opposed to the "N2EC" on the Indy kit.
The wing braces between the wings attach with brass angle to hard points in the built up wing. The Indy kit has plastic pieces to do this.
I do not think that this is the Indy, but rather the Pilot.

Did you ever find who made this eagle?
I also have a mystery eagle that looks very much like yours. It's old and has been around that patch quite a few times and is a heavy weight. I figure AUW to be around 19 to 20 lbs.
Have you figured your AUW yet ?
Could you measure your cowling ...mine is around 10x10x10.
Thanks

There is no manual just a large sheet of paper with step by step photos, very basic info and a lot of script written in Japanese.

RE: Plans Christen Eagle OK Model/Pilot
It looks like this is an old Pilot kit. I'll let Lightning Fan reply with a bunch of the "whys" and what to look at. One thing is the three-piece cowl, made of ABS.
If you can get a scan of the plans page you have that would be great. Let me know what it costs if you have to do this at an office max or something and I'll send you a paypal or check.
BTW, one of the interesting things that has happened since we acquired this one. I now have two 1/4 scale Bob Dively CEs, which I have the plans for, with F/GFuselages. Those however, need some work in getting cleaned up, a complete going over and then covering.

RE: Plans Christen Eagle OK Model/Pilot
Hi there, been a while now but your Eagle is an ARF and the Pilot kit was a kit of bits. Everything had to be assembled. The cowl in my kit is made up of 4 pieces stuck together. My model dates back to the 1980's, I'm not certain ARF's were around then. Anyway that is besides the point Great Planes made an Eagle 11 which is slightly bigger with a wing span of 68.5 in (top) to a scale of 28.7%. Your model looks like a Hangar 9 or a Black horse kit. The only bit I recognise on your model is the engine fixing brackets. These are the same on my kit, they hold in place a built up plywood box onto which an engine mount is bolted on. I dont like this idea either, too weak!! so I will securely glue it in place and possibly tongue and groove the box in place. I will have to make up a new box though. As to the registration, my kit is N2FC though no decals are supplied, all markings have to be painted on or decals made specially. Thats going to be expensive. I can't remember what else you wanted to know so I will send this thread and go back and look. If you still want any other info let me know on this site or at [email protected]

Tony,
I'll let Rikk reply on the plane being, or not being, an ARF. I know we've gone back and forth and Ireally thought the decision is that it's a Pilot kit, but I've been wrong before!
