Here's a couple of pics of the Yellow/Orange version. Next week there will be a Red one. I've already heard from someone who is getting one and putting a BME-110 in it.

Yes, saw that vid, plane looked great. Only problem is Jason can make a cardboard box fly that well, lol. Was hoping to get a review from someone that has avarage abilities, such as my self.

RE: 40% MX2
Ok here is a review of how it flies. It is very light on the sticks yet penetrates the wind very well. I felt comfortable from the very start. It flies precision very well. The roll rate is fantastic. It stops rolling the second you let go of the stick. I was also surprised on how slow it was on the downlines. I'm still trimming it out, but currently I'm at about 6% in knifedge elevator and 0 on aileron. here is a link to my video on the planes 3rd flight. http://www.marktrent3d.com/Mx2%20videohigh.wmv

Mark,
I love your 3rd flight video, shows an almost mortal flying the plane very very well. I am very much considering getting one of the yellow MX2's and just run in-cowl muffs. I am just very much up on the air about whether it should be my 3D or IMAC plane. Maybe I'll do the Jason mod with a phenolic and removable lead slug in the tail. Enjoyed the video.

I remember watching that vid of you showing that mod, I went out and straped a 1/4 pound of lead on my already tail heavy 2.6m..I nearly lost it that day but it sure did some nice walls and tip spins...

RE: 40% MX2
Da 150 with slant mufflers, Mejlik 32x10 prop, 9 JR 8611a's on all surfaces, 2 on the ailerons inboard, one on each elevator half, 3 on the rudder in a SWB pull pull tray, a JR 3121 for the throttle, Single R2000 syn Receiver, 2 4800 fromeco batteries, regs with Badger switches. a single 2400 on the ignition. Aeorgraphics decal set. CG is conservative at the center of the wingtube. Lots of trimming to come. I also have smoke on her. The coupling is 6% right rudder 3% left rudder with no roll coupling. It was so much fun I can't wait to fly it again. You can ck out the build thread on my site if you wish. www.marktrent3D.com

RE: 40% MX2
Mark,
I'm ordering one of these (in yellow) tomorrow, Friday. From the looks of your build thread you didn't change the right thrust from what's built into the firewall, can you confirm, please? I will set mine up basically the same way as you, except for a different choice of servos, and will use a G3 Rx and a Smart Fly PE. I have a set of unused DA150 regular mufflers I need to send to Dave and exchange for the slant muffs. Looking forward to more vid and info from you on the performance of this plane.

RE: 40% MX2
Question to Jason and Mark, or anybody with an MX2 and DA150.
I just ordered and paid for one in the yellow scale scheme. I have a set of standard DA150 mufflers, will they work without cutting the cowl, or will I need the slant mufflers?

RE: 40% MX2
My plane is a little different in certain aspects than the production planes. My slant mufflers are hitting the cowl barely, but enough that I'm going to have to cut the cowl. So from what I know you will have to cut the cowl. I wouldn't worry about it though. This plane fies so well you will have forgotten about the holes after the second flight. I have the opprotunity to fly alot of different planes, but very few have ever turned me on like the MX2. I'm in Phoenix right now for a bike run, but I wish I was home flying that bird. It is a plane that opens alot of possibilities on what can be done with an aerobatic aircraft. Insane power with a great wing loading = FUN

RE: 40% MX2
I was looking at this plane, I talked to mark a while back(Joe Herbert) if you remember Mark? well anyway I've got a nasty 106 toc in my 36% 3W Patty theres a review up on DOD of it but this motor I have is a freak with a 26-12 it will go straight up vertical faster than any motor I have ever seen it pulls so hard and fast I have a hard time holding it straight at full throttle it climbs faster than a fomie with a 400 motor on it.. it is almost too much motor on that 36% plane it was swinging a 28-10 biela at 6240 on the ground on break in fuel at 32 to 1 mix I know this motor wont have a problem on an MX2 for sure I plan on going to this set up for next years IMAC season....

I had a Carden 40% giles that was around 34lbs with a 3w 150, and it was ballistic, as I like it.

I also had a Carden 40% Giles and loved that plane. I haven't flown anythng else since that I liked as much. Once I heard comments rating the 40% Giles and MS-2 as similar in performance, I knew it would be my next airplane. Now that my 3 year vacation from RC is over (lack of time basically), its time to get back in again and the MX-2 is a perfect jumping back in point.

Good to see you're still here, as well as some of the others after a quick read through some threads.
Cant wait for spring And I'm going to call and order the MX-2 in the next week or so.
