RE: 32% Aero-FZD Su-26
This is an Aero-FZD fiberglass kit. Alot of wood needs to be added to install wingtubes/landing gear/motormount/firewall. And to devise a way to keep the hatch on and make it look scale.
Well luckily my buddy had plans for the landing gear plate and firewall/motormount from when he built the first one.
took a couple of days to glue it all together. The only other big problem is that unlike Comp Arf the ailerons and such aren't skin hinged. They are seperate and the hinge lines have foam in them instead of wood.....its the cheap planters foam and is less than 1" thick. So I have to cut out the hinge line and add wood. Also the hinges are only beveled on one side.....so no x-treme throw.
But I got a good deal on the plane and I like the look of it so I couldn't pass it up.

I've got the wing tube mounted and am working on the alignment dowls. I need to redo the stab tube though (don't ask, I F-ed it up.
Once I finish gluing in the firewall I'll glue in the landing gear plate.
More tedious work.......
I cut out the rudder and drilled the holes for the pull-pull. Also temp installed the dowl for the pull-pull rod.
I cut out the wing root so that I can replace with wood. Also installed a wood plate so that I can screw the wing into the fuse with my thumb wheels from True Value.
Also finished gluing in the wing phenolic and took out the stab phenolic that was installed wrong.
Cut out the servo plates for the ailerons and started glueing them in.

More work done........Finished up mounting the right wing. Started on the left wing. I also mounted the cowl. The cowl had simulated bolts in it, so I drilled through those and am using those points for my screws to hold the cowl in place.
PICS...........
1) Cowl painted on inside
2) Cowl mounting holes in rivets in the mold
3) Gear plate glued in
4) Gear on plane (see the orange color....fixing that here shortly)

More work today........added some fiberglass cloth to the landing gear plate. Installed the tailwheel
Cut out the wood for both wings and will be gluing them in. Also finished up the other servo tray cover. I should be ready to hinge and paint the ailerons tomorrow maybe.
Things I ordered......
-3W106 (got a great deal on one with low time.....be here Tuesday
-3W fueler (be here Thursday)
-5in Sullivan alum hub wheels.....no wheel pants on this baby...(Friday)
-Another helmet pilot like my edge from Australia.....takes about 4 weeks + paint job time
Still need 6 JR8611a's and servo arms

I'm not sure about the 3D.......I'm only getting about 30-40 degrees of throw on the surfaces. They are not double beveled. I was too afraid to cut the wing down figuring I couldn't get a straight line. Hard to explain in words what I'm talking about but I was really intending this bird for my backup (now primary) IMAC plane and for tooling around.
I don't have a good video camera, all I have is my digital camera that takes video. I'll do what I can.

Alrfight....I moved down to (2) 32oz tanks as I can't fit the 40oz tanks
Everything is installed except the fill line and vent line for the tanks. They have to be installed last, just from the design.
It could be ready to Maiden tomorrow but I am not sure I can make it. I've got some family things to take care of tonight.
Oh and it balanced on the tube just fine.
Pics tonight for sure though.

Well its windy and cold.....mid 40's.
So I put her together and did the engine run.
Rest of the graphics will be ready on Monday.....I'll be back in town Friday
Once I get her in the air I'll finish working on the pilot figure. I just added two inches to him so he'll sit nicer in the canopy.
