Default CG Sokhoi and F/P 2.4

Have plane and motor but book that comes with kit warns not to motor up ?
Has any one motored this kit up to this size and if so how did it work or not work. and what changes were made .
I read alot about the landing gear being weak as i have the kit that landing gear is in wing and will beef this up as needed or move to fuse. but the big question is to build or not to build with using the 2.4 F/P

NOT! Your plane is too small for that engine.......too heavy too!

Default su & 2.4

have os 120 and will try to weigh both motors and see what the diferance is ,by holding the two its close .
and i've been looking at the wing spans of simalar su's and they are using this size 2.4 's and flying them . so what makes this plane any differant.

Default fpe 2.4

I am going to mount a 2.4 in mine. How much does your suhkoi weigh? Mine is 12lbs I have a webra 120 in mine and it runs well for sport flying. The 2.4 was designed around the 120 class. How far do you live from New Castle. If your un-sure about the 2.4 we'll use mine as the test plane.

Mount the servos in the tail and the receiver and battery pack aft adn you should do fine. Just make sure that your CG is at or behind the center location. I had one with a YS120 (889g) and it had lead in the nose.

Default cg su and 2.4 f/p engine

i'm 20 miles north of pitts. by new kensington
havent built plane but am planning to build it as i have motor and plane as i also have os 120 III and need input on 2.4 or 120 ? and was hoping someone else has motored this kit up as directions that come with kit warn not to . i fly at 286 skykings field in kittaning and thats all these guys do is put larger motors in planes that are called for and these planes really perform well.
if you put the 2.4 in cg,s sukhoi let me now how it works out.

Default Sukhoi Power

I've had three, powered by Webra 1.2, S.T. 2500, Q-35 and the real treat: Brison 2.4. What a great flying plane with the Brison! Tex.

sukhoi is nice with a q35 need to strengthen around the knokouts in the fuse front not much difference in performance than ys 120 straight swap. added no weight or nothing just moved battery around. cut three or four extra ribbs out of ply where the gear attaches lots of epoxy and pine tri stock the gear is the only part of my wing that survived
