Default New Aileron Servo Install?

I'm changing the dual servo setup of an AW 36% Katana ARF to a single 8611a install in each wing. This is a dual tapered wing.

AW has the servo boxes parallel to the fuse center line.

My question is... Would it be better to make the new servo boxes perpendicular to the aileron hinge line?

Regards,
Bart

the best thing to do is to follow their instructions. while a single servo may have adequate torque, the aileron may not be adequately supported by a single contact point. should you have flutter and lose the airplane, AW has no liability.

Which side of the servo box is parallel with the fuse, the long side of the servo? Perpendicular to the aileron hinge line means at a right angle to same.

In the scheme of things I believe it matters not how the servo is orientated to the hinge-line as the servo arms rotary index or orientation at neutral is the primary factor. One might argue the servo is more resilient to cantilever loads if the servo long side is orientated perpendicular to the load/hinge line. Or in other words a line is drawn parallel to the hinge line, typically the narrow side of the servo is parallel to the hinge-line.

The best servo mounting location scenario IMO is to have the servo laying on it side on a hatch door with the long side perpindicular to the load.
